Things to do in Nan'ao County

We didn't catch any squid, but the owner helped us by casting a net every half hour, bringing up quite a few. We had a barbecue on the boat, which was a nice way to relax and have some fun in the evening. Even though we didn't catch any fish, we still had a barbecue and seafood porridge dinner.

There aren't many attractions on Nan'ao Island besides the beach. I made a special trip to the General's Mansion, the only one of its kind on a Chinese island. It's incredibly small, though. You can see the contents of a few houses and finish in half an hour. I wouldn't recommend it if you're on a limited island trip. The scenery along the way is nice though.

The Tropic of Cancer Gate to Nature is a giant suspended sphere sculpture. Taking photos from below can help you avoid the crowds. The beach is also a great spot for taking pictures. The sand is very fine and clean, and you can also go jet skiing in the summer.

It's a very beautiful little park. After seeing the Song Well, lying on the big rocks by the sea and sunbathing was so relaxing. The park also has many impressive trees that grow around huge rocks. These parks still retain the feeling of the parks from my childhood, which is why I love Nan'ao Island.

The Nan'ao Bridge is the only bridge connecting Shantou to Nan'ao Island. It is approximately 11 kilometers long and is a beautiful structure, forming a landmark of Nan'ao Island together with the first lighthouse seen upon entering the island—the Changshanwei Lighthouse. The bridge operates on a one-way toll system: 96 yuan is charged for entering the island, while exiting the island is toll-free. During holidays and weekends, the large number of vehicles entering the island can cause some congestion.

The lighthouses on Nan'ao Island are quite special, with different shapes and colors, and are very recognizable. Changshanwei Lighthouse is one of them. When you get off the Nan'ao Bridge, you will reach the Sailing Square, where you can see the bright red "Changshanwei Lighthouse", with a black top and a red tower, which is very eye-catching. Changshanwei Lighthouse is also the lighthouse closest to the bridge. Standing on the shore next to the lighthouse, you can see the Nan'ao Bridge from a distance, and the scenery is beautiful.

Many friends who come to Shantou or Nan'ao don't know that there is a very famous mountain here, that is Huanghua Mountain. The scenery of Huanghua Mountain is actually quite good. Standing on it, you can see the beautiful scenery of Nan'ao Bridge and the beautiful sunset. But there is one thing that is not so good. It is not very friendly to hikers. Because from the bottom of the mountain to the top of the mountain, there are only lanes all the way, and there are no steps. Most people drive in, and then drive to the place where they can climb the mountain before starting to climb, but I walked a lot and was very tired.

Three Chimney Cliff Lighthouse, with its main body being a white cylindrical concrete structure decorated with red vertical stripes, features a twin lighthouse design with one taller and one shorter, commonly known as the "Twin Ice Cream Lighthouse." Photography tip: I took these photos in the morning, but the backlighting didn't capture the colors well. I recommend going in the afternoon to take photos; you can then get a pink ice cream-like effect.

通过攻略自驾去灯塔游玩，沿着环岛路行驶可以看见南澳湾第二个灯塔钱澳湾灯塔，塔身为米黄色，连通着栈桥也是必打卡点位。拍照时可以融合灯塔、栈桥、大海、礁石等角度取景，逛累了也可以在小亭子歇歇脚。
