Our driver/guide Cyrus did a great job customizing our experience for my 84 year-old mother’s limited mobility. His car was clean and comfortable.He shared his local knowledge and made excellent recommendations at each stop. The archaeological site at Kernave was so beautiful. We took a private boat tour for €20 at Trakai, also beautiful, and walked back to the mainland from the castle, which was a good option for us. Back in Vilnius, we walked around Cathedral Square and I climbed the Vilnius University bell tower. We got dropped off at the Museum of Occupation, closed on Mondays and were able to visit for an hour before they closed for the day on Sunday.

We booked a group tour but were the only ones on the tour - so it was a private tour for the price of a group tour - thank you for not cancelling on us! Our guide and driver were knowledgable and clearly had an interest in history etc. The driving was safe and the commentary was informative. We had a very enjoyable day with excellent information at all the sites (old Jewish Library, Paneriai Memorials (extremely poignant), Hill of Angels and Trakai Castle. It was cool to walk on water to visit the castle!

This is just the ride over to the castle. The ticket for the castle (12 euros each) was not included. The line to buy the tickets was very long but luckily our guide knew how to purchase them online. Our guide went with us in the castle for a bit and then gave us free time to explore on our own.

The story about Paneriai is horrible. I am happy I understand more after this trip. I really feel sorry about the terrible experience and conditions during the Nazis period at Lithuania and the way they killed the Jewish people.

This was awesome! Three sites, showing Lithuania’s medieval & horrific recent past and its hopes for the future. I was lucky. We travelled by car. Our driver/guide was very informative and kind.
