When visiting Pingyao Ancient City, it is a must to get a tour with Jonathan from China Highlights. He was patient and was present, waited at our hotel lobby promptly. He was humorous during our walking tours. He had so much knowledge of the four majors sights we visited. He was efficient and could have went on further than for sights.

The view was spectacular, and the passport entry was very convenient. One suggestion you could mention is the transportation to the caves; I don't think it's designed so you buy the ticket plus transportation. You can go from Datong by taxi and return by taxi, or take two buses. We opted for a taxi to go and a bus back because we weren't in a hurry.
