We joined a one-day tour from Kyoto, departing from Kyoto Station at 9:40 AM and returning around 6 PM. The day was incredibly fulfilling. The waters of Amanohashidate were crystal clear, and the Ine Boathouse was ancient and unique. Our tour guide, Cui Haihua, spoke both Chinese and Korean, and provided detailed explanations. The itinerary was well-organized, and the guides made the trip relaxing and enjoyable. Highlights: The cable car and boat ride are a must-try; it's a worthwhile experience.★

🌳 3 Must-Do Things at Amanohashidate
1️⃣ Climb to the top of "Umbrella Pine Park" for a bird's-eye view of the sandbar
→ Take the cable car to the top (round trip ¥720), and take a "reverse Fuji" composition from the viewpoint overlooking the sea.
→ Hidden spot: The west side of the observation deck at the top of the mountain offers a stunning view of the sandbar and the Aso Sea side-by-side!
2️⃣ Walk barefoot on the "Natural White Sand Beach"
→ Take off your shoes and walk on 2km of pure white sand. The seawater washing over your ankles at high tide is incredibly soothing.
→ Rent a bicycle (¥500/hour) and chase seagulls along the sandbar, feeling the shape of the wind.
3️⃣ Visit "Chieunji Temple" for amulets
→ Vermilion torii gates paired with century-old pine trees; seek amulets for academic success/marriage (from ¥800).
→ Touch the "Manjushri Wisdom Wheel" and spin it three times; legend says it will make you smarter!★

I like the places we went. The activities are fun especially the feeding of seagulls. Our tour guide, Bunny is friendly and helpful. She took nice photos for us and will find out with the local staff with our enquiry. She can speak Chinese, English and Japanese. Good experience. Highly recommended.★

This Arashiyama + Sanzenin itinerary was fantastic! Traveling with kids, the temperature reached nearly 37 degrees Celsius that day, but it was at least 3-4 degrees cooler inside Sanzenin. Sanzenin was lush and green, and many people were taking photos there. Arashiyama was much more crowded than Sanzenin, so I recommend having lunch there; many restaurants only accept cash, so remember to bring cash! For those traveling with young children, it's best to book Arashiyama Scenic Railway tickets in advance. Ask the travel agency's customer service about the most convenient time to book. The round trip by train takes one hour. We even saw people rafting from the train, but we didn't have time. Maybe next time! A special mention goes to our tour guide, Liu Ling; she was incredibly helpful on the train, providing explanations and even taking us to the station before the train departed. On the return trip, she gave the children Arashiyama refrigerator magnets.★

Traveling alone, I booked a day trip to Kyoto departing from Osaka. 😆 Our guide, ViVi, was very friendly and attentive, providing excellent explanations in both Chinese and English. There was plenty of time for sightseeing, making it a very fulfilling day. I have wonderful memories of Kyoto. 😊 The matcha ice cream 🍦 was so delicious! 🤤
