Reviews: [Redeem required] Nikko Pass (redeem ticket at Tobu Asakusa Tourist Information Center)

Extremely convenient, you can take all buses, and the return on investment is incredibly fast: This time, I planned to visit Okunikko (Senjo-no-hara, Yumoto Onsen). Just the one-way bus fare from Tobu Nikko Station to Yumoto Onsen cost over 1,700 yen. Just the round-trip bus fare, plus the basic fare between Asakusa and Nikko, completely recouped the cost of the ticket. Subsequent bus rides felt like "free." High flexibility in transfers: There are many bus services between Nikko attractions, and with the pass, you can hop on and off "unlimited times." If you get tired, you can simply hop on whenever you see a bus stop without having to dig out change or calculate fares each time, making the travel experience very smooth. Super comfortable with SPACIA X: I booked the newest SPACIA X limited express train, using the pass to offset the basic fare, only needing to pay for the "limited express ticket." The carriages were brand new and spacious; I slept all the way from Asakusa to Nikko without any fatigue from the journey. Minor drawbacks: Ticket exchange at Asakusa Station involves long queues: Although you can purchase an e-ticket online, you still need to go to the service center at Tobu Asakusa Station on the morning of the trip to exchange it for a physical ticket. Limited express tickets must be booked in advance: Many people assume that a travel pass allows them to ride limited express trains directly, but the travel pass only covers local train fares. Reserved seats on popular limited express trains (especially SPACIA X) are extremely difficult to secure; be sure to buy your limited express ticket at least one month in advance when seat reservations open.

I came comfortably via the internet, but the internet connection at Nikko is not as good as expected, so there may be cases where the pass does not appear properly.

Worked fine. The only setback is you have to show to the staff, and sometimes there is no staff at the station, or they do not know the pass. But at the end we passed at every station we tried.
