Our guide Martha was exceptional with outstanding art history knowledge + extensive side notes on the palace. I am a history graduate + really appreciated such a high level of expertise. 5 gold stars

We got there early in the morning and waited until it opened at 9:00. There was a huge crowd right before the opening hour but didn't take long to get inside the palace since we bought our tickets in advance. Once we got inside we toured the palace first and then went to see the gardens. The area is so huge we had to rent an electric car (42€ per hour) to go around. There's a restaurant on site and a cafe.

Guide was very good. It was very busy on Sunday but he took us through side entrance and warned us of very busy areas. Where he could he gathered us in quieter areas. Entertaining and informative
Reviews: Skip-the-Line Versailles Palace & Garden Tour with Transport

My family enjoyed this tour (can't remember our guide's name, but she was good); the meeting spot was easy to find, and it was helpful to have a guide to keep us all together on the train and walking to the palace. (My family had been in Paris for a few days and were comfortable with the metro, but it was a new experience for others on our tour; the guide helped everyone with it and talked to us about Paris in general on the train platform while we waited.) Our guide had some entertaining stories in various rooms of the palace, so I got more out of it than if I'd just walked through on my own. The price was reasonable, as it included both the guide and the transportation. I also liked it that the return train ticket was up to us to use when we were ready, so we could wander the grounds at our own pace instead of staying with the group and guide once the tour is done.
