I recently had the pleasure of joining an excursion from Lisbon to the magical town of Sintra, and it was, without a doubt, one of the best travel experiences I’ve had. A huge part of this success is due to our fantastic guide, IVO. From the start, the tour itself was exceptional. Sintra is a place that truly captivates the imagination, and Ivo brought its history and many enchanting spots to life with his excellent, fluent English and engaging storytelling. He managed the logistics seamlessly, ensuring everyone felt informed and well-cared for throughout the day.

Our guide Matt was extremely well informed on the history of the sites, and an interesting guy as well. Our weather was rainy with heavy fog which limited our viewing pleasure, but Matt kept us positive. There is a lot of uphill walking in this day. My health app noted I walked over 17,600 steps and climbed an equivalent of 57 floors, so be prepared for a real workout and dress for total comfort. The sites are amazing though. At least it wasn’t crowded!


