This was an outstanding custom tour that we worked out in advance. Our tour guide Kana-san is a local of the area and knew her way around - we felt like we were getting an "insider tour" done especially for us. We hit all the highlights in Aso area, great views and some fun hiking and history. Kana-san also had some "secret gems" to show us that we didn't expect, and were really worthwhile. I'll keep her secret safe and all I will say is that the corn was great. Thank you. This was the best guided tour we've ever had.
Reviews: Kyushu Scenery with Mount Aso Shuttle: Mount Aso Volcano + Kusasenri Horseback Riding + Takachiho 1-day Tour

What a pleasant and smooth day! 🌞 The weather was amazing! Autumn in Takachiho Gorge is beautiful. Luckily, I didn't become an Aso refugee! 😂 I saw Mount Aso up close, it was quite breathtaking! Our guide, Daisy Wu Xia, was super nice – very professional service, a well-planned itinerary, and very helpful. She even shared local food and shopping tips with us… Looking forward to seeing you again!
Reviews: Kumamoto Miyazaki|Kamishikimi Kumanoimasu Shrine & Kyushu Takachiho Gorge & Mount Aso Kusasenri Day Tour

Just got back from Aso and Miyazaki, and I have to give a huge thumbs up to this day trip to Takachiho Gorge! The natural scenery was breathtaking, but what touched me even more was the thoughtful service of our guide, Sun Peng, and driver, which made the trip an absolute blast! First, a huge shout-out to our guide, Sun Peng! He was incredibly professional and enthusiastic. Throughout the trip, he not only brought Kyushu's history and culture to life in a lively and engaging way, but he was also incredibly considerate of everyone's comfort. While touring Takachiho Gorge, he not only helped us find the best angles for photos but also patiently explained the legends and myths associated with Japan, transforming simply looking at the scenery into truly experiencing it. And a special thank you to our driver! His driving skills were impeccable! Kyushu has many mountain roads, especially the winding roads leading to Takachiho Gorge, but the ride was completely smooth and comfortable, even for someone like me who is prone to motion sickness. He always quietly turned on the air conditioning beforehand and would nod and smile politely when we got on and off the bus, making us feel incredibly respectful and at ease. Thanks to Director Sun's detailed explanations and the driver's safe escort, the scenery was even more beautiful along the way. If you're visiting Kyushu and want a worry-free yet in-depth experience, I highly recommend this tour. Remember to specifically ask for Director Sun! Five stars, a must-give five-star review! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Reviews: [Official Ticket] JR PASS All Kyushu/Southern Kyushu/Northern Kyushu Railway Pass 3/5/7 Days (E-Redemption Voucher)

The JR Kyushu Pass is an absolute steal! With a single ticket, you can ride unlimited Shinkansen, limited express, and special sightseeing trains (such as Yufuin no Mori and Aso Boy) to explore Fukuoka, Kumamoto, Yufuin, Nagasaki, Kagoshima, and more. It's economical, convenient, and allows for easy travel without a car. It offers exceptional value and is highly recommended for railway enthusiasts and independent travelers.
Reviews: 1-day tour to Fukuoka's hidden shrine, Aso Volcano, Kusasenri, and Kurokawa Onsen|Kumamoto round-trip
Guest User2025-11-17
The tour costs 270 yuan per person; consider it just transportation. It visits four places. Kurokawa Onsen and the volcano are quite far and you definitely can't plan them yourself. The bus ride is like a rest stop; you can start exploring as soon as you land. The tour guide will also provide commentary, and their Northeastern accent is very welcoming. Seeing the volcano is a bonus; not seeing it is a real shame—it's quite a matter of luck. The shrine visit is a little rushed; you need to calm down and climb up to truly immerse yourself in the experience.
