We hired a car for our family trip, and the driver picked us up from our door, saving us the inconvenience of dragging our suitcases to the meeting point. Visiting four attractions in one day during the holiday was great! The popular Erhai Lake was too crowded, so we changed our itinerary considering we needed to finish early to catch our train. The driver suggested we go to the wetland park instead; it was less crowded in the morning, the air was fresh, and there were wild birds. He said it's a popular spot for locals. We also visited the Bai ethnic minority garden, listened to a guided tour, and experienced the Three-Course Tea Ceremony. Finishing early allowed us to wait for our train leisurely, which was great!★

Thanks to Yunnan Tourism for their thoughtful arrangements, and to Mr. Yang Chunjie for his attentive assistance and introductions throughout the trip, making my journey wonderful. Mr. Yang knew I preferred less crowded spots at attractions, so he specially found those locations for me to enjoy the sights properly. The travel company and Mr. Yang are absolutely trustworthy travel partners. (Special note: I also had a day trip to the Stone Forest and Jiuxiang from Kunming with this company, and it was a very satisfactory arrangement!)★

The eight of us, who had planned a backpacking trip, only had one day to spare in Dali. We planned to take a train from Kunming the night before, do a day tour, and then return to Lijiang the next morning. We initially considered taking a taxi or bus, but decided that a private charter tour, while a bit more expensive, would be more cost-effective. The charter driver was attentive, using his smartphone to translate and always parking close to our destination. Thanks to him, we had a comfortable one-day tour. About 100 meters from the entrance to Heungnang Ancient Town, across from a public restroom, there was a coffee shop with a nice atmosphere and very affordable price. They grinded coffee beans on the spot and made Americano for 5 yuan. Maxim Coffee was 5 yuan elsewhere. Shuanglang Ancient Town wasn't that great. The S-shaped riverside road was a great photo opportunity. Chongqing Temple with its three pagodas was also nice.
