The firefly viewing area is only a bit far from the city center, and traffic is quite congested during that time. Even so, a round-trip taxi shouldn't be that expensive. The entrance fee was only 18 Malaysian ringgit, but our family of four spent over 2,000, which was too much. It's best to hire a car and go there on your own. Going there early in the day is also a good idea. There are also daytime Johor boat tours and Chinese-owned restaurants there, which look quite nice.★
