Things to do in Changchun

Once inside the park, you can take a bus and explore from stop to stop, a loop of over twenty kilometers that includes forests, lakes, squirrels, mushrooms, and more. You can bring your own food or buy it from the food stalls inside; a whole day isn't enough!

The animals were all adorable. I bought a day ticket. I need to leave the park before 4:30 PM. Upon entering through the west gate, the elephant enclosure's landscaping was beautifully designed. I loved that each animal in the zoo had a name and description. For example, the giraffes Qiqi and Linlin's names come from a giraffe that appeared on the route taken by Emperor Zhu Di of the Ming Dynasty after his victorious campaign against the Mongols in the north. As tribute, court officials believed that the emperor's triumphant return was a sign of a sage descending upon the world. Therefore, the two giraffes in the zoo were named Qiqi and Linlin.

A must-see in Changchun is the Puppet Emperor's Palace. Firstly, the architecture is worth seeing, but most importantly, it serves as a reminder of national humiliation that every Chinese person must remember. The Puppet Emperor's Palace is conveniently located, accessible by subway, and boasts beautiful architecture, making it well worth a visit.

Changchun Film City is a unique movie-themed amusement park with excellent special effects, a fantastic nighttime atmosphere, and spectacular nighttime performances, making it a must-visit destination in Changchun.

This place has a strong sense of history, attracting many middle-aged and elderly visitors who are nostalgic. The exhibits include film introductions from various eras, primarily using pictures, text, and video materials. It would be great if more filming locations could be added.

It was so much fun, much more fun than Harbin! The wait wasn't long either. Around 7 PM, I met some locals who were shivering inside, stamping their feet in the cold. I told them I'd been there for nine hours already, haha! I even bought a giant sword!

Tianding Mountain Family Fun Experience (approx. 200 words) A weekend trip to Tianding Mountain with the kids! We tried everything – the cable car, the mountain bikes, and the double-track toboggan – a truly immersive experience! The sightseeing cable car winds through the lush greenery, offering panoramic views of the meadows and the city skyline from the summit, all while enjoying a refreshing mountain breeze. The brightly colored mountain bikes are self-controlled and incredibly fun, with winding curves that kept the kids laughing non-stop. Children under 130cm can ride with adults. The high-altitude double toboggan is thrilling yet relaxing, with its undulating tracks and fantastic forest atmosphere. A package deal combining all three attractions offers even better value. The park has excellent facilities, including a lawn for camping and relaxation. The staff are patient and helpful, and safety measures are in place. It's a great choice for a family outing near Changchun!

🚃 I booked the ticket for this tram ride the night before. It was a simple and easy process. The guide sent me an email telling me where the meeting point was as i only had a data e-sim. Guide was there at the meeting point early to gather all those who booked the ride. We were all served a ☕️ beverage onboard the tram. Guide shared the history of the tram and brought us on a short tour of the tram workshop and gave us a brief overview of how a tram was built too! Thank you to the team who brought us on the short tour—the driver, the guide and an assistant onboard! We were even given a souvenir (tram keychain and ticket) to bring home!

The Changchun Film Studio Site Museum is practically a must-visit in Changchun, and it's even more enjoyable to go with parents, as many of the films shown here are cherished memories of their youth. They walked around, showing me which movies stood out most in their minds. Besides the written information, the museum also has interactive audio-visual rooms, such as an experience where you can dub movies. Overall, my parents had a great time!
