Wanghailou Church, formerly known as the Victory Church, is located on the north side of the west end of Lion Forest Street, Hebei District, Tianjin, diagonally opposite the Lion Forest Bridge, named for its former site Wanghailou. The church was built in late 1869, with European Gothic architectural style, and was the first church built after the Catholicism entered Tianjin, and in 1870 there was a shocking "Tianjin teaching case".
