The Tongling copper mine site is located in the northeast corner of Mulu Mountain in Xiaqi Town, Ruichang City, Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province. It is a site of Shangzhou period. It constitutes the early mining technology system of China. The unearthed cultural relics have tools such as mining, lifting, loading, transportation, washing, lighting, drainage and other living utensils. With extremely rich scientific data, the history of large-scale copper mining in China has been at least 3,000 years, and the earliest mining and metallurgical sites found in China so far have been found in the Middle Ages. The remains of a large copper mine that is the most complete and rich in connotation are one of the symbols of China's bronze civilization. It is of great value to explore the source of raw materials in China's highly developed bronze casting industry, and the history of metallurgy and civilization. It has a special historical status in the development of China's bronze civilization, and was approved by the State Council as the fifth batch of key cultural relics protection units in the country in 2001.
