Definitely the most beautiful lake in Taiwan, beautiful and peaceful, with temples looming around... a must-see when in Taiwan.

we were unfortunate and went on a foggy day. unable to see anything from the hotel room. ferries were not operating due to the weather. even when we took the cable car up, it's foggy up on top and we can't see much. wells, it's a foggy scenery afterall. hope to come back again on a good day. the nicest natural beauty of the fog is to see it floating above the waters at the visitor center - must go

This beautiful lake is one of Taiwan's favorite scenic areas. Sun Moon Lake is located in the very center of the island of Taiwan. It is among Taiwan's most popular tourist attractions. I visited Sun Moon Lake with a few friends and found it to be quite beautiful. The scenery was spectacular with mountains around the lake.

The most famous sights around Sun Moon Lake are Ita Thao, Lalu Island, Xuanzang Temple, the Ci-en Pagoda, Wenwu Temple and so on. The natural forests bordering these roads are good places for bird watching.

Reasons to Recommend: Sun Moon Lake is so beautiful and it’s water was so blue. You can go kayaking but for us, we went cycling and their trail along the lake was great, You can go walking, jogging, or cycling! Rent for the e-bike is 600 NTD for 2 hours

The Sun Moon Lake has a wide surface, and the peaks reflected on the lake form a beautiful landscape. There is a small island in the lake. It looks similar to a bead floating on the water, so it is called "Zhuzi Yu". Now it is also called Lalu Island. With this island as the boundary, the northern part of the lake is round like the sun, and the southern part of the lake is similar to a crescent. This is the reason for the name of Sun Moon Lake.
