Maredo Review

Visited with friends whist on a short break to Berlin. Staff were very attentive and proffesional. All our steaks were cooked perfectly and very tasty. Reasonably priced too for central Berlin. All in all very good and recommended.

Nice restaurant and good value. Service a little slow. Located in a very beautiful square and close to the underground system.

Maredo is a chain of steakhouses. Well, in Germany chain restaurants aren't that typical as in the US - and most of them aren't of high quality. Not so with Maredo. They have excellent steaks, nice side dishes, and offer a good dining experience in nice atmosphere. I have been to their location at the Gendarmenmarkt in Berlin in April on a Saturday for a late lunch. The place wasn't very busy. I was greated an had free choice of tables. My waiter was very friendly and attentive. Food came out promptly and exactly cooked to order - not to mention it tasted great. All in all a very good experience!

I'd tried to book a table via their website for the correct date but they confirmed a date 17 days too early. I did email them to correct this but they did not reply. That aside the restaurant was quiet though despite a multi lingual menu in a main tourist area the staff were not. Both steaks were cooked to perfection and my rare steak served on a hot stone to keep it warm. Chips weren't that nice but the salad bar was of good quality with a wide selection

We (2 people) had a quick lunch here in June of 2016. The restaurant has a good location on Friedrichstrasse. Fairly quick service, but the staff doesn´t seem very interested in welcoming the guests. The salad bar looked delicious. Found it a bit too expensive compared to what you get on your plate. Will not be back to eat here.
