Notre Dame is one of the churches of peace in Paris. It is only a few blocks away from metro stations or a short taxi ride from the river on the left bank. The Art Nouveau Church, built in 1830, has been redecorated several times, most recently in 1930, as a pilgrimage destination for Roman Catholics, similar to Lourdes and Fatima. There is a gift shop where you can buy medals, brochures and other souvenirs.
