Shwedagon Pagoda, also known as the Golden Pagoda, was first built in 585 BC and has undergone repairs and renovations over the years. The current height of the pagoda is 112 meters and the circumference of the base is 427 meters. It is the most sacred Buddhist pagoda in Myanmar, as it enshrines relics of four Buddhas. Along with Indonesia's Borobudur Temple and Cambodia's Angkor Wat, it is known as one of the "Three Great Monuments of Southeast Asia" and is a world-renowned symbol of Myanmar. The Shwedagon Pagoda is located on the Dinggudala Mountain in the Inya Lake area of Yangon. Built in the pre-Christian era, the Shwedagon Pagoda has a history of more than 2,500 years and is the oldest pagoda in Myanmar. According to legend, the Burmese merchants Ko Gada Putta brothers brought back eight strands of Buddha's hair from India and presented them to the Burmese king, who ordered the construction of the pagoda in this ancient fishing village to preserve the Buddha's hair. When it was first built, the pagoda was only about 20 meters high, but after more than 2,000 years of repairs and expansions, it has become what it is today. The main tower is over 100 meters high, surrounded by walls, with entrances on all four sides. The south gate is the main entrance, and there is now an elevator for tourists to visit. There are more than 70 marble steps that lead up to the main tower platform. There is a small stone tower at each corner of the platform, with the main tower in the middle. The main tower is covered in pure gold foil, with over 5,000 diamonds and more than 2,000 precious stones embedded in the top. A wind chime hangs from the top of the tower, and when the wind blows, it rings out a pleasant sound that spreads in all directions. There are also two large bells hanging in the pagoda courtyard. According to legend, ringing the bells three times can make your wishes come true. The Burmese people regard the Shwedagon Pagoda as a holy site of Buddhism and a source of national pride. The Shwedagon Pagoda, along with Indonesia's Borobudur Temple and Cambodia's Angkor Wat, is one of the famous wonders of the East. In April 2019, I traveled to Myanmar and had the privilege of visiting the Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon. Together with the locals, I devoutly prayed under the scorching noon sun, feeling the Buddha's light. It's an unforgettable experience till now!

🚂Yangon circular train🇲🇲

Attraction: Yangon Circular Train Location: Yangon Central Railway Station, Yangon Yangon Circular Train is one of the popular transport mode in Yangon. It was built during the British colonial period. It was completed in 1954. The whole train ride is 46 kilometres long, and it last for around 2 hours. Of course you may get off at any station you wish. During the slow ride, you can observed many local Burmese doing their daily activities such as buying and selling in markets. It also past by many local villages. The view is rather nice and it’s a good break from the busy street. 2nd Key Pagoda in Yangon - Sule Pagoda

#createwithtrip to Yangon, beside going to Shwedagon Pagoda, one must also visit Sule Pagoda. While it is not as big and impressive as the former, Sule Pagoda is still beautiful and serene. It’s an easy site to navigate and definitely less crowded and touristic. It is located at Junction of Sule Pagoda Road, မဟာဗန္ဓုလလမ်း, Yangon 11141, Myanmar (Burma), sort of in the middle of a “roundabout”, one has to be careful crossing the road to the main gate. once in, take you time to walk around and explore. As no shoes are allowed, it’s good to bring along a small bag to keep your shoes with you so you don’t need to go back to the same door to exit and have a hard time to find your shoes. #myanmar #yangon #sulepagoda #buddhist #buddhisttemple

Sulei Pagoda is located in the middle turntable of the old road in Yangon City. Renchuan’s endless vehicles rush through. There are stupas in the traffic carousel, and there are traffic turntables outside the pagoda. If the Shwedagon Pagoda is a landmark in Myanmar, then the Sule Pagoda is a landmark building in the old city of Yangon.  Suleibao Tower is located in the center of Yangon, next door to the city hall. Although it is not the same as the religious significance of the Shwedagon Pagoda, it has a history of more than 2,000 years. It is the religious settlement of the people in the old town of Yangon. In fact, Sulei Pagoda has a history of more than 2,000 years, which is much longer than the Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon.

The stupa of Yangon has a lot to see. There are still many golden stupas that can be visited. Sureta is located in Bandura Square, and the whole city extends into its surroundings. The pagoda is named after the mud statue of the protector of the sacred mountain. The tower is octagonal, magnificent and has a Buddha relic. The British architecture, such as the City Hall, the High Court and the Independence Monument, surrounds the tower and encloses the tower. It seems to be the wall of the stupa, and it is also worth visiting.

Most attractive place to visit in Myanmar

One of the most beautiful places to visit in Myanmar is this big reclining Buddha statue known as the Chaukhtatgyi Buddha Temple. It's located in the Yangon downtown area, Myanmar. It's more than 200 feet long and the creation is just amazing especially the eyes of the Buddha statue. There are many Buddha statues around this big one.
