Recommended Shanghai itinerary for your first trip to China🪽 (6 nights, 7 days)
#2026NewYear
I traveled to Shanghai in May last year as soon as I got my Chinese visa waiver. I wanted to stay longer... and then my 2-night, 3-day trip turned into 6-night, 7-day trip. I'd recommend my week-long Shanghai trip, which was so enjoyable. ♥
📍North Bund Park (北外滩公园)
I discovered this place while trying to avoid the crowded Bund.
It offers a great view of both the Oriental Pearl Tower and the Bund, so I recommend it to anyone who wants to see both.😎
The walk from North Bund Park all the way down to the Bund is also a nice walk, so if you're like me and don't like being pushed around by crowds, this is the place to go!
📍Prada Longzhai (prada 荣宅/ 迷上)
I went without a reservation and just enjoyed the exhibition... 🥹
The space is so beautiful, so make sure to make a reservation and enjoy the restaurant or cafe. ❕ Lots of people take pictures, and the photos turn out beautifully. ♥
Exhibitions The mansion is well-kept and has displays on each floor, so please enjoy the included pamphlet. ★ (The pamphlet was only available in English and Chinese.)
📍Pompi
Tiramisu Restaurant 🍰❗️Italy is famous for tiramisu, right?
I added it to my itinerary because I heard it's only available in Italy and Shanghai.
It's soft and delicious... It's so delicious that it makes me crave it!
I had the pistachio and original flavors, but there are many different flavors, so I recommend trying whatever you like.👍🏻
📍Water Village (Panlong Tiandi / Zhujiajiao)
It's hard to recommend just one of these water villages, as they each have their own unique charm.
However, if you're staying in Shanghai for a long time, I recommend visiting any of the water villages.❕
(They recommend a 2-day, 1-night itinerary for Wuzhen, but I couldn't make it because the travel time was a bit unclear. ㅠㅠ If you want to fully enjoy it, go to Wuzhen.★ I'll be staying in Wuzhen for 1-2 days next time. I'll do it hehe)
DAY 1️⃣
Departure from Incheon Airport - Check-in to accommodation - Dahuchun (famous Michelin-starred restaurant for Shengjianbao) - Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea - Xintiandi - Tianzifang - Yuyuan - Page Hot Pot (A Chongqing hot pot restaurant recommended by locals! Recommended if you don't want to go to places only Koreans go🌶️)
DAY 2️⃣
Accommodation - Sichuan Citizen - Wukang Mansion (It's extremely crowded on weekends, so I recommend going on a weekday..🥹) - Wukang Road - Anfu Road (The route leading here is filled with trending brands like HARMAY, Brandy Meville, and 13DE MARZO CAFE, so it's a great way to pass the time browsing through them.🙂) - Nanjing East Road - Xianzhi Wuyiqian (a long-time lamb chop shop) - North Bund Park - Massage shop 👣 MUU massage (I wouldn't recommend the location of the one I went to because it wasn't very convenient. 🥹)
DAY 3️⃣
Check out - Panlong Tiandi (a newly built artificial water village with lots of restaurants, places to see, and cafes. It's close to Hongqiao Airport, so if you want to spend half a day there, I highly recommend it👍🏻) - Check in to your new accommodation - Dalunfa Mart - Juguangyu Hot Pot (I went after 9 PM and there was no wait at all. Try going on a weekday night.)
DAY 4️⃣
Accommodation - Bottega (Pizza restaurant❕I thought it would be small, so I ordered 2 pizzas for 2 people + sweet potato fries.. I definitely do not recommend it🙅🏻♀️ I recommend the tteokgae ramen,, otherwise, 1 pizza for 2 people +@ is enough 🙂 )
- Basement FG, sweetchilling (If you like shopping, you must visit~) - DRUNK BAKER (The branch I went to was located on the first floor of a company building, so it was small, so I got some to-go and went to a cafe) - peet’s coffee (Famous for their rose coffee•• ★ In China, outside food is allowed in cafes, so I ate it with the to-go towel cake hehe) - Columbia Circle - Wukang Mansion - Yu Garden - Zhengda Square - Zhendeok - Disney Store - Binjiang Dadao - Back home… 🏠
DAY5️⃣
Accommodation - Guimanlong 桂满陇 (located in Shinsegae Department Store!) - Lilian Bakery (Perfect for dessert..♥) - 🎡Disneyland🎡 - Henchiuyiqian (很久以前羊肉串) at the First Department Store (also a place to eat ⭐️, you can wait through WeChat, so if you're watching the Disneyland fireworks, it'll be perfect time) - Return home early in the morning... 😵
DAY6️⃣
Accommodation - Taoyuanxiang Nanjing East Road Branch (Foot massage reservation 👣) - Jiangbian City Outside (Garlic and spicy rice cakes, a great meal 🍚) - Zhujiajiao Water Village (Same-day trip possible❗️You can get there by bus or subway. I took the bus) - Nanjing East Road (I arrived after 9pm, and most of the restaurants were closed...🥹) - Back to the accommodations... Last Night••🌙
DAY7️⃣
Checkout - Nanjing West Road (Alimentari Mulino (Brunch spot🤍) - Shushutong ♥ (A clothing store every girl loves) - Prada Longzhai (New hot spot / Exhibition, cafe, restaurant, all great) - Pompi (Tiramisu spot 🍮 Only found in Italy and Shanghai)
- Starbucks Reserve Roastery (Lots of unique Starbucks menu items ☕️🤎) - Hongqiao Airport
Not many people go on such a long trip to Shanghai •••
But it's a city I always want to visit again!
For those planning a week-long trip, check out my itinerary❁´◡`❁
(I've been to places twice with different companions, and they have different charms during the day and at night, so if you're visiting the same place twice, I recommend visiting at different times. ★)
