Disney California Adventure ParkTransportation: I stayed at a hotel near Disneyland and went to the Toy Story parking lot at 7:40 AM. There's a free Disney shuttle bus there (not the $6 adult day pass offered by the nearby hotel). At 7:40 AM, security checks and boarding were almost queue-free, allowing for quick park entry. After 10:00 AM, the crowds increased significantly; it was the first time I'd experienced such massive crowds abroad. Route: Despite doing my research beforehand, I still kept getting lost. The Disneyland app's navigation is different from Apple Maps; it didn't follow my route and the icons were very small. So I used Apple Maps to navigate. However, I found the routes within the park were different, often leading me in the opposite direction, or I'd find a wall blocking my way just before reaching the destination. [It seems Apple/Google Maps doesn't reflect the latest architectural changes within the park. So, don't use these external navigation apps…] For first-time visitors, it's best to ask the staff for a paper map. The map shows iconic attractions like the Matterhorn toboggan run and Disney Castle. Locating these landmarks will help you find your way. Food: Food is expensive, and there are often long queues, even if you book in advance. Sometimes you still have to wait several tens of minutes. There are also time windows for food pickup, so don't order too far ahead. If you're not picky about food, you can bring some snacks. There are drinking fountains inside the park, so bring your own water bottle. You can also buy a soft drink for $4.99 at the restaurants (they provide a cup, and you can refill your drink from the vending machine). Attractions: More thrilling rides, such as Star... For attractions like War, SpaceMountain, and Matterhron Sleds, make reservations as early as possible on Lightning Lane. Regularly check wait times for each attraction and be prepared to adjust your Lightning Lane reservations (to accommodate more popular attractions with shorter wait times). However, please note: 1) Arrive within the designated time window after making a reservation. When it's crowded, you must arrive early. However, I arrived 15 minutes late with my two children once, and after explaining the situation to the staff, they still let us in. Since the reservation window had already closed, we cancelled our reservation, meaning we didn't use the Lightning Lane for that attraction. We could then make another reservation using Lightning Lane later (each attraction can only be reserved once with Lightning Lane; subsequent reservations require standing by). 2) Don't try to wait until evening to book popular attractions. By 5 or 6 pm, many popular attractions' Lightning Lane queues have closed until closing time, and reservations are no longer available. Overall, the experience was good. The scenery design and overall experience were excellent, and the facilities were well-maintained. The only downside was that all attractions had very short wait times, while popular attractions had very long queues.
