Short stay in Rayong

Rayong is pretty big in my opinion; it took me 3 hours driving from Bangkok. Then I stayed in Holiday Inn & Suites Rayong City Centre which was so comfortable and accessible to anywhere in Rayong. It's also located nearby a big shopping mall. The staffs were so friendly and helpful; breakfast and facilities were super great with reasonable price. When you don't want to go outside, there's a fascinating rooftop bar on 30th floor to chill and enjoy the night view until 1 am. #thailandtrip The Rayong Aquarium is a small research facility about 25 km from Rayong City. There is a cost to enter but it’s not much (maybe 30 Bath) but it helps to keep the centre active. There are many small tanks with Thai explanations and some rudimentary English-but enough if you speak only English. There is a single larger tank that you kind of walk through and around. At the end of the tanks there are some static displays about a range of sea topics, historical fishing methodologies, shells, sea-and interface, sharks and whales in the area etc. There is a largish carpark, a small souvenir shop and toilets. Its not a big and glamorous aquarium but when you leave you think, “well that was worth it”.

Highly recommend this place to a family with kids. The aquarium is not that much big like the others but wonderful. Getting There - Driving is the most appropriate way to go to this place. Go straight to the bay of Ban Phe (same route as Khao Laem Ya-Mo Ko Samet National Park). Location - 2 Phe, Mueang Rayong District, Rayong 21160 Food & Restaurants - The aquarium is located near the local market. You can enjoy local food, especially seafood here. Many restaurants are also around there.
