I've been to the studio in the UK before, so I thought I knew what to expect. But I was wrong! It was truly amazing! Compared to the UK studio, the one in Japan offers a more complete experience of entering the magical world. There are many interactive elements within the studio, and the most surprising part is the recreation of the Ministry of Magic. Located about a 3-minute walk from Toshimaen Station. I bought my ticket on Trip and chose the 2:30 PM entry. When I arrived a little after 2 PM, I was already allowed to enter. Bags are checked upon entry, and outside food is not allowed inside. Although I didn't dine at the restaurants inside, I still spent over 4 hours exploring. The whole experience felt like truly stepping into the world of Harry Potter, becoming a part of the magical world. The attractions are roughly categorized into: 1. Movie Scenes, 2. Behind-the-Scenes Secrets, 3. Interactive Facilities, 4. Dining and Shopping. As a fan who has watched the movies and read the books, I felt particularly excited and moved during the visit. The interactive facilities are fun and amusing; you can join a Quidditch match as a student spectator or record a video to become a character in a castle portrait. Staff will guide you to create an account and QR code upon entry, and you have 30 days to download these clips. The behind-the-scenes section is very detailed, showcasing many aspects of the production process. It gives you a deep appreciation for the hard work behind the scenes and surprises you with how different the creation of many scenes, objects, and props is from what you might have imagined. The only outdoor area inside Harry Potter Tokyo Studio is at Privet Drive. It is before Hogwarts Express Train and after Backlot cafe. I am never so thankful that I bought two tickets to visit it twice over the same weekend during my short stay in Tokyo. The studio is enormous with plenty of artefacts, replicas of movie set (life sized) for great photo opportunities! Love the food presentation, I ate a most delicious chicken fillet and Mandrake! Visiting it two days gave me ample time to explore it more and immerse myself in the richness of the fascinating elements of the making of the Harry Potter films. It also provided more time to allow enjoyment of the various interactive experiences. The Quidditch match and the Broom Riding experiences are just not to be missed! Fans of the Wizarding world, film making fanatics and muggles would be able to enjoy it differently, it is a tour suitable for all. At the Tokyo Warner Bros. Harry Potter Studio, you can see a miniature of Hogwarts. Although it's a miniature, it's quite large. As you explore Hogwarts and go down one floor, there's a souvenir shop. I was a bit disappointed that I couldn't see the Hogwarts dormitories at the Harry Potter Studio, but make sure to check out the Hogwarts miniature at the end of the tour! Even though it's a miniature, Hogwarts looks as grand as it does in the Harry Potter movies.

Visited during December, bought tickets in July as I’ve heard from friends in Japan that if you want morning tickets you should book in advance. It is approximately a 4 hour walkthrough experience if you DON’T take photos, it will take much longer if you’re in for photos (some spots require lining up). So wear comfortable shoes and prepared to WALK. If you want customised school uniform robe and wand, buy the 9am ticket! The actual attraction opens at 11am so after buying robe + sitting down for breakfast + collecting robe + cloaking, ideally, it should be 11am by then. You’re able to stay at an area for as long as you like except for the main hall where you’ll be rushed to the next scene (be quick for photos). PS: if it’s a special day (birthday/anniversary etc) you’ll have a chance to be the chosen one to push open the door.
