The world famous Galleria degli Uffizi
The Uffizi gallery!
A gallery with loads of stunning art works!
It was crowded during the time I visit, around mid December, it was Italian public holiday, locals are travelling between cities.
Please be prepared to stay in the gallery for more than 2 hours, or even 3. Me and my friend are not expert in art, at the very beginning we were so excited and we feel so great in such beautiful place and all world known art pieces are right in front of us, however half way through, we felt really stuffy in the gallery and a bit tired to keep walking. So reminded that be prepared to walk for long hours and take your time to sit down and rest before finishing the whole tour!

Italian Renaissance Heaven
One of the most famous and beautiful museums in Florence, Italy. 😻
The Gallery entirely occupies the first and second floors of the large building constructed between 1560 and 1580 and designed by Giorgio Vasari.
It is famous worldwide for its outstanding collections of ancient sculptures and paintings (from the Middle Ages to the Modern period). The collections of paintings from the 14th-century and Renaissance period include some absolute masterpieces. It also boasts an invaluable collection of ancient statues and busts from the Medici family, which adorns the corridors and consists of ancient Roman copies of lost Greek sculptures.

The Uffizi Gallery in Florence
In the long history of the European Renaissance, the Medici family is undoubtedly a name that shines brightly. As one of the most influential ruling families in Florence, they shaped the destiny of the city not only through political and economic means, but also left an indelible mark in the cultural field with their profound artistic vision and generous patronage. Among their most dazzling jewels is undoubtedly the Uffizi Gallery (also translated as Uffizi), which they funded and built.
The Uffizi Gallery faces the Pitti Palace across the Arno River, and today the Pitti Palace and the adjacent Boboli Gardens are part of the Uffizi Museum complex. Not far from the gallery are the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore and the Accademia Gallery.
The Uffizi Gallery is located in the center of Florence, Italy, and its origins can be traced back to the early 16th century, when it was commissioned by Cosimo I de' Medici, the first Grand Duke of Tuscany from the Medici family, and designed by the famous architect Giorgio Vasari. The building was originally intended as the administrative office building for the Duchy of Florence, and 'Uffizi' in Italian means 'offices'.
From an architectural perspective, the Uffizi Gallery itself is a work of art. Vasari's design cleverly combines classical style with practical functionality, creating a solemn and elegant spatial layout. The gallery extends along the side of the Arno River, forming a unique U-shaped structure, with wide and bright interior corridors, providing an ideal environment for displaying art. Over time, as the collection grew, the gallery underwent several expansions and renovations, but it has always maintained the spirit of the original design.

Florence’s Uffizi Museum 🖼️
If visiting Florence, do yourself a favor and visit this beautiful museum!
🎫 Tickets: Book in advance to make sure you get one. I paid 44€ online. Pick up your ticket at gate 3 then make your way to gate 1.
⏰ Recommended time: Go in the morning! I was there at 10 and it was very busy. I suggest you go there when it opens, so you can have a more enjoyable experience. I walked around for 2.5 hours, but you could easily stay another 3 to explore everything much more in depth. There’s a cafe and a terrace upstairs (super busy), but it’s definitely good to take a break after you’re done the first part of the visit.

An inside look of Uffizi Gallery - 🇮🇹 Art
#summerbreak
A beautiful 🤩 day at Uffizi in Florence 🇮🇹 exploring all the best places and monuments. If you go the first Sunday of every month the entrance is FREE! Otherwise the price is still
pretty affordable and definitely worth to do.
Uffizi contains some of the best painting and personally my favorites were from Leonardo Da Vinci.
If you get thirsty there is a bar at the end of the gallery were you can sit and enjoy a drink, an aperitif or even eat a bite while overlooking the amazing view of Florence.
Florence is a perfect place to be visited during summer time but also during the winter months because there is a lot to do both indoors and outdoor activities. We took advantage of rainy day to visit the museum and monuments while we were biking and touring during the sunny days. Definitely worth seeing

Daughter takes me to see the world - Milan to Florence
We took the 9959 train from Milan to Florence (Firenze Santa Maria Novella) for about an hour and a half, and walked about 15 minutes to the Residence Hilda hotel. The hotel is very close to the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, and there is a Chinese restaurant downstairs. The famous old lady's shop is also on the same street, and there are many characteristic small shops near the old bridge. Due to time constraints, we chose to climb the bell tower of the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore and visit the Uffizi Gallery, which has many masterpieces such as Giotto, Botticelli, Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael, Dürer, Rembrandt, Rubens, and Caravaggio.

Why you should visit the Uffizi Gallery
Do you like visiting galleries? 🖼️ I do! While in Florence I visited the Uffizi Gallery and oh my goodness not only the artworks were amazing, but the building itself was an artwork. It had the most beautiful hallways and the ceilings. No words. One of the paintings that really wowed me was the Birth of Venus. There she is behind me (in the first photo) - this painting is a true masterpiece. Venus is the goddess of love and beauty. This artwork depicts Venus arriving on the island of Cyprus and was painted by Sandro Botticelli.
~
Top Tip: Go with a guide. It was the first time going with one to visit a gallery and I really enjoyed it. Funnily enough his name was Rafael (hello fellow namesake). He was very knowledgeable and shared really interesting facts about some of the most famous artworks in the gallery. I think it was the best idea as we found out

The Galleria degli Uffizi, located in Piazza della Signoria, is a large palace-like building that was built in 1560 and was not completed until 1581. It is now one of the most famous art museums in Europe and the world. There are a large number of rare treasures in the collection, and it is also a place that many art lovers yearn for.
The two most successful paintings by the Florentineist artist Sandro Botticelli in the early Renaissance: "The Birth of Venus" and "Spring" are all collected in the Uffizi Gallery. "Spring" was created in 1477. It was written by Botticelli with the poet Polizio and the long poem of Venus, which was created by Medici Villa. The artist used his rich imagination and superb skills to bring ancient mythological stories to life. At the top right of the picture, Fengshen embraces the spring god, and the spring god embraces the flower god. The flower god who spreads the flowers scatters the flowers to the earth; Venus stands in the middle of the picture, and the goddess cupid hands the angel of love flying on her head. On the right side of Venus is the three beautiful gods who danced hand in hand and symbolized "Gorgeous", "Shu Shu" and "Happy". On the far left of the picture is the special envoy of the main god Zeus, Mercury. The whole painting has smooth lines, bright colors and a pleasant atmosphere.

As a graduate of the art department, how can I come to Florence to get to the Uffizi Gallery? It was once the administrative office of the Medici family. It is now an art museum with more than 2,500 collections. It is famous for its works in the European Renaissance and other paintings, as well as ancient Greek and Roman sculptures.
