Accommodation🏠:
Xiamen Weike Youth Hostel (Zhongshan Road Store)
116💰/3 nights
3.18 Day One Weather☁️
1⃣️South Putuo Temple (reservation required)
2⃣️Shapowei
Close to South Putuo Temple, so I came to have a look. This area is mainly known for its night market, so it's not very lively during the day, but it's good for taking pictures (recommend the rooftop of the Art West District).
I finished browsing just in time for 🌟Weilin Dessert to open at 12:30. I added lotus root, taro, white glutinous rice, and adzuki beans, with a free silver ear mushroom soup as the base, totaling 15💰. The lotus root and taro are marinated in brown sugar, highly recommended!
3⃣️Botanical Garden (student ticket 15💰)
Entered from the south gate, took the sightseeing elevator, and walked to the ticket office to buy a one-way ticket for 5💰.
A one-way ticket means you can only take it once, but it's enough for those who only want to visit the succulent and rainforest areas. After visiting, exit from the west gate, the total walking distance is less than 1km, and if the weather is good, you can also take the Zhonggu Cableway.
4⃣️Baicheng Beach
No sunset on a cloudy day, but it's healing to watch the waves and feel the sea breeze by the beach! I also made good friends here🥹.
5⃣️SM City Plaza
Went to eat with the couple I met at Baicheng Beach.
6⃣️Ten Mile Long Embankment
After eating, we drove to the Ten Mile Long Embankment, but it was too late, and it was a weekday, so there were few people!
3.19 Day Two Weather☀️
1⃣️Gulangyu Island
Bought the ferry ticket on the Xiao🍊 app 'Meet Xiamen', round trip 35💰, make sure to choose a sunny day.
📝On the ferry, a staff member said: Each tourist takes a different path, sees different scenery, and the travel experience is different.
Besides some photo spots, I think there's no need to follow a specific route, just wander around and you might see some unexpected beautiful views🤓.
✅Ruanji Satay Noodles (if you plan to eat this, you can get off at Neicuo'ao Pier, which is very close).
The cheapest is 15💰, the most expensive is 45💰, it's up to you, and the taste is very good!
✅Photo spots
Recommend 📍Dadeji Bathing Beach
Opposite are Xiamen's landmark buildings, the World Trade Twin Towers and Yanwu Bridge, great for photos📷.
2⃣️Yefengzhai
Came here for the swing photos, located at 📍OFF WORK by the sea.
3⃣️Baicheng Beach
A busier beach than Yefengzhai, a good place to watch the sunset🌄.
4⃣️Market Eight
✅A Jie Five-Spice
4💰/piece, you can buy one to try, the taste is okay but a bit greasy after too much.
✅A Long Satay Pork Loin
10💰/3 skewers, tastes good, the pork loin is tender.
3.20 Day Three Weather🌤️
1⃣️Huangcuo Beach Sunrise

✅Double Taro Tofu Curd
This is super delicious!

Xiamen Super Practical Guide, recommended for friends visiting Xiamen in March!||||||This is my second visit to Xiamen, and the most important thing comes first: you must choose a sunny day when coming to Xiamen! Blue sky, blue sea, good mood!
♦️ One, Transportation and Accommodation
1. If you like to see the sea, it is suggested to book a place near Huangcuo Beach. If you prefer convenient transportation, consider booking near Zhongshan Road. I booked near Huangcuo.
2. Exit Xiamen North Station and directly transfer to Line 1 to see the sea train Spirited Away.
♦️ Two, Itinerary
Day1⃣️
【Route: Nanputuo Temple, Shapowei, Zengcuo'an, Baicheng Beach】
1. Nanputuo Temple⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Scan the code to make a reservation before entering the temple. A serious visit can take two hours, and you can get a free incense stick at the entrance.
2. Shapowei⭐️⭐️⭐️
There are lots of handmade jewelry stalls in the Art West District, very unique, a must-visit for girls, and the graffiti wall is also great for photos.
3. Zengcuo'an⭐️
Too commercialized, even less recommended to eat here, expensive and a rip-off with no substance!
4. Baicheng Beach⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The coast is beautiful, it is recommended to go between 15:00-17:00 in the afternoon, the evening sea breeze is too cold!
(The whole route can be done by citywalk + renting a bike to cycle around the island, it's really comfortable)
Day2⃣️
【Route: Eighth Market, Zhongshan Road, Huaxin Road, Xingfu Road, Huangcuo Beach, Yefengzhai】
1. Eighth Market + Zhongshan Road + Huaxin Road + Xingfu Road⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Eighth Market is a food paradise! Must-try restaurants are mentioned in the food section. Xingfu Road is super photogenic, with Ge You at p9 and the "Xiamen" check-in spot at p8 nearby.
2. Huangcuo Beach⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The most recommended spot! Stunningly beautiful! Any tree you choose to take photos with looks great! Must visit, must visit, must visit!
♦️ Three, Food Section
🟢1. Nanputuo Temple: Mung bean filling vegetarian cake 15 yuan/box⭐️⭐️⭐️
The vegetarian noodles at Haihui Lou❌ are not tasty, it's recommended to eat at the vegetarian buffet store outside the temple.
🟢2. Xuji Old Xiamen Special Satay Noodles (behind Huangcuo)⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
When in Xiamen, you must try satay noodles. We had satay noodles three times, and the most recommended is Xuji Old Xiamen Special Satay Noodles near Huangcuo, with plenty of ingredients and great taste! Generous with seafood. The satay noodles eaten at Zengcuo'an❌ had not even a single shrimp and still cost 30 yuan.
🟢3. Jiawei Zaitian Snack Shop (Eighth Market)
The prices are reasonable, and their extra-ingredient meat zongzi is highly recommended, really delicious! A friend ordered a taro bun which felt average.
Key point: Be sure to calculate the price of the food you want to eat first, then transfer the money at the cashier, and tell the lady how much food stamps you want, then exchange the stamps for meals at the window! Calculating it yourself first saves more time.

Four-day Three-night Travel Guide in Xiamen
Day1
Xiamen Airport - Zhongshan Road - Jimei School Village
We arrived at Xiamen Airport after 9 am, and it was around 11 am by the time we settled in our hotel. We booked a hotel near Zhongshan Road Pedestrian Street, so we bought some snacks nearby for lunch, like sea snail meat, satay noodles, and ginger duck.
Day2
Gulangyu Island - Linjia Minnan Cuisine - Zhongshan Road
You need to book the ferry tickets to Gulangyu Island online in advance. There are sightseeing buses on the island, but you have to queue up for them. My friends and I chose to walk around the island, which was quite tiring.
Day3
Nanputuo Temple - Xiamen University - 202 Special Food Stall -
We went to Nanputuo Temple before 9 am, bought some prayer beads, and since Xiamen University is right next to it, we took a quick look. We didn't make a reservation, so we just took a photo at the entrance.
For lunch, we went to the 202 Special Food Stall (the one on Douxi Road), and it was a total letdown. The menu prices were different from the checkout prices. They told us the prices increased during the Spring Festival, but they didn't inform us when ordering. The food wasn't good either, so I don't recommend it 🙅!!!
Day4
Shapowei - Zhonggu Cableway - Botanical Garden
Shapowei is quite a nice place to stroll around, with many shops and stalls. You need to book the Zhonggu Cableway in advance. Since we didn't have a reservation, we just went to the nearby Botanical Garden. The garden is quite large, and you can choose to take a sightseeing bus. The view from the observation deck is very nice. We arrived in the evening and enjoyed a beautiful sunset.
🚗
For this trip, we mostly took taxis and walked. The places were quite crowded, so you might want to consider traveling during the off-season to avoid the crowds.
The spring of the kapok flowers at Nanputuo
Nanputuo Temple was originally established at the end of the Tang Dynasty and the Five Dynasties, initially called Sizhou Institute. It was rebuilt by the Northern Song monk Wencui and renamed Wuji Rock. It was abandoned during the Yuan Dynasty. It was rebuilt at the beginning of the Ming Dynasty, renamed Puzhao Temple. At the end of the Ming Dynasty, the poet monk Jueguang moved and rebuilt it in front of the mountain, with complete halls and residences, and the number of resident monks often reached more than a hundred. It was again abandoned due to military disasters at the beginning of the Qing Dynasty. In the twenty-second year of the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty (1684), after Shi Lang, the Marquis of Jinghai, recaptured Taiwan and was stationed in Xiamen, he donated funds to restore the old temple and added the Dabeige to worship the Bodhisattva Guanyin. It was compared with the Guanyin sacred site of Mount Putuo in Zhejiang and was renamed Nanputuo Temple. Over the following centuries, it underwent multiple renovations and expansions by successive abbots, such as Jingfeng, Shengji, and Xican, and by the early years of the Republic of China, it had formed a complete Zen temple pattern with three main halls and seven pavilions, becoming the most prominent temple in modern southern Fujian.
Nanputuo Temple in Xiamen is a famous temple in southern Fujian, located in front of the famous Wulao Peaks of Egret Island, backed by a group of unique peaks, facing the clear Chenghai Port, with excellent scenery. Since the beginning of the Five Dynasties and the Song Dynasty, there have been high monks who built huts for Buddhist practice by the mountain. The temple was expanded during the Ming Dynasty, initially forming its scale, and was renamed to its current name after restoration in the early Qing Dynasty.
Shapowei, a filming location
Shapowei is the origin of Xiamen Port and has served as a sheltered harbor since the Qing Dynasty. Located to the south of Shapowei is the Nanputuo Temple and Xiamen University, and its name comes from being at the end of a long stretch of beach. The early Xiamen Port was an arc-shaped bay, with a crescent-shaped coastline and a continuous golden beach, hence the nickname 'Jade Sand Slope'. It is particularly suitable for those who appreciate cultural history and have a sense of nostalgia to visit. The now restored district blends tradition with modernity, and simplicity with fashion, attracting many people to take photos and check in, seeking a piece of history and capturing a moment of sentiment. Shapowei has been the location for numerous films and TV shows, such as 'The Beginning' and 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star', capturing its beautiful scenery on camera and drawing many young people to take photos, with its nostalgic, artistic, and retro atmosphere being particularly photogenic.
🚉Transportation tips: Xiamen University West Village Station by bus routes 22, 47, 48, 86, 87, 92, 96, etc.; Xiamen Port Bus Station by bus routes 12, 17, 25, 107, 853, etc.;
🗓Itinerary:

❤Reasons for recommendation: Culture and historical heritage

Spring hidden in the temple, the kapok flowers bloom at Nanputuo Temple (with strategy)
It's my first visit to Nanputuo Temple after the New Year, and I saw that touch of red outside the monastery walls. Several kapok trees are in full bloom next to the Wanshou Pagoda by the Life Release Pond! The ancient chants of the temple, with the red flowers in contrast, make one smile!
Three great spots to photograph kapok flowers in the temple:
1⃣️ Next to the Wanshou Pagoda by the Life Release Pond, with the Jia Geng building group of Xiamen University as a background, you can capture the flowers and Jia Geng architecture in the same frame.
2⃣️ There are also several tall kapok trees inside and outside the vegetarian restaurant courtyard, but the spots are quite high and not easy to shoot.
3⃣️ In front of the big Buddha character on the back mountain, there is a kapok tree, where you can capture the 'Buddha' and the flowers in the same frame.
Other photo highlights:
✅ There are many pigeons by the Life Release Pond, which are great for capturing dynamic shots of the pigeons🕊️.
✅ The temple roofs are beautiful, it's recommended to take close-up shots.
💡Temple visit suggestions:
❌ Do not wear overly revealing clothing, do not pose provocatively in the temple.
❌ Do not make loud noises.
✅ Respect the monks' practice within the temple, do not disturb or overstep.
✅ If you have luggage, you can store it for free in the luggage room on the right side of the entrance.
✅ Make an online reservation in advance.
😍Food recommendations:
✅ For groups, the vegetarian restaurant is a good choice, where you can order dishes.
✅ For solo diners, the Haihui Tower noodle shop is recommended, offering vegetarian options like ramen and satay noodles.
✅ There is a tea shop outside the Heavenly King Hall, where you can drink milk tea and buy vegetarian cakes, and there is a small wooden house coffee shop at the exit, where you can enjoy coffee!

Nanputuo Temple
☘️ I visited Xiamen once ten years ago, but due to the tight schedule, I missed the chance to visit Nanputuo Temple, which became a regret. Therefore, Nanputuo Temple is the focus of this trip to Xiamen.
☘️ Although the peak tourist season has passed, the visitors in front of Nanputuo Temple are still bustling with activity, making it extraordinarily lively. The incense inside the temple is very prosperous, and devout believers can be seen praying sincerely everywhere, reluctant to leave for a long time.
☘️ Nanputuo Temple is backed by mountains and faces the sea, with a grand scale and a solemn and respectful atmosphere, arranged in an orderly fashion. The green plants and trees are carefully tended to, making them particularly pleasing to the eye.
☘️ If you get tired, you can try the famous Nanputuo vegetarian meal, have a bowl of vegetarian noodles, and the restaurant also offers Nanputuo vegetarian cakes as souvenirs that you can purchase together.

One of the must-see attractions in Xiamen, Fujian, China, the South Putuo temple is situated in a beautiful, sprawling compound facing the sea and backed by mountains.
The temple has a history of over a thousand years, dating back to the Tang dynasty. It's free to visit, and is perpetually packed with tourists and locals alike. Despite that, it still retains a peaceful aura and you feel yourself calming down after walking the grounds.

👉🏻For friends not in Xiamen, you can ask your friends for help, or you can come to Nanputuo when you come to Xiamen for the Spring Festival
-
Question 2️⃣: What is the worship process at Nanputuo?
👉🏻Worship order: Request incense (you can get a free incense at the small wooden house when you enter from the East Mountain gate) → Clean hands (clean hands at the lotus pond next to the stairs on both sides) → Light incense (hold incense in left hand, light incense with right hand) → Offer incense
👉🏻In the temple: Generally enter and exit through the side doors, worship clockwise, do not walk back

Question 3️⃣: Nanputuo entrance scam avoidance guide
‼️‼️There are many fake tour guides at the entrances of Nanputuo, holding attraction cards and telling you to go on a one-day tour of the island road or to see dolphins and sailboats⛵, don't go, it's a big scam in Xiamen tourism, and there are taxis🚕 at the entrance, they are basically in the same group, don't take them‼️‼️

Oyster omelette, pork loin, Huiyuan fried bread, Zhong Lijun full pancake, Rongmei ginger duck, dried vegetable cake and coated tofu on Shigu Road... Try one, since you are here, just taste it haha~
The souffle at Shapowei, Q bomb soft and fluffy, the taste is like a cloud. Must go to eat!
The Musang King durian on Zhongshan Road Pedestrian Street is fragrant and soft.
A friend tried durian for the first time and fell in love with it! She also sincerely sighed that the taste was not as "smelly" as she imagined, and it was surprisingly delicious~
The freshly peeled coconut egg, I have been thinking about it for a long time! I always feel that the white coconut meat outside will be delicious, but in fact, after eating two or three bites, I start to feel greasy, and I feel like chewing raw coconut oil haha.
I don't know when I will go next time.

Nanputuo Temple is located under the Wu Laofeng in Xiamen. It was originally built in the late Tang Dynasty. The original name was Weizhou Temple. The temple was abandoned in the Yuan Dynasty. It was rebuilt in the Ming Dynasty and was destroyed during the Ming and Qing Dynasties until the Qing Dynasty. Jinghai Hou Shi was rebuilt in Xiamen.
Shi Wei will turn Nanputuo Temple into Guanyin Taoist Temple, echoing with Putuo Mountain in Zhoushan, Zhejiang. In the past, because Quanzhou is the economic and cultural center of the southern part of the country, Kaiyuan Temple and other Buddhist temples are more famous; now, Xiamens comprehensive strength exceeds that of Quanzhou, and tourism has developed more successfully, and the reputation and visitors of Nanputuo Temple The number has surpassed other ancient temples in the same area. The
South Putuo Temple has sold tickets and is now free to the public. As long as the opening hours, visitors are free to enter the scenic spot. Nanputuo Temple not only does not charge, but also free gifts. When the festival is over, there are often small gifts, such as the Spring Festival couplets before the Spring Festival.
The Tianwang Temple of Nanputuo Temple was rebuilt in 1925; the Great Hall of Sorrow was built in the Yuan Dynasty. It was originally a wooden structure. In 1962, the main body was changed to a reinforced concrete structure. The Tibetan Classical Pavilion was built in 1936 and is the Nanputuo Temple. The building of the collection; the Daxiong Hall was built in 1926. It is a brick and wood structure with carved beams. It is the central building of the whole temple. Its grandeur and solemnity is the main representative of the temple architecture in southern Fujian.
Because of its high reputation, it is adjacent to Xiamen University and close to Zengcuo. The Nanputuo Temple is full of people and people. When it comes to large-scale holidays, its popularity is even more popular in Hangzhou, such as West Lake. Visiting Nanputuo Temple and learning about Buddhism culture is second. The architecture here is an art treasure. Ascending to overlook the sea and some of Xiamen's cityscape.
How can I not go to Nanputuo in Xiamen?
The first time I went to Xiamen eight years ago, I climbed to the top of Nanputuo. I still don't remember the buildings in Putuo Temple. I only remember that the scenery on the top of the mountain is good.
This time, I felt that the entire temple was enlarged and the building was rebuilt. At the entrance post office, you can buy a postcard for five yuan and send it back to yourself, or buy a canvas bag with a written inscription. If you are hungry, please ask a volunteer to tell the story inside the temple.
The front door of Nanputuo Temple is next to Xiamen University, and Houshan is linked to Xiamen Botanical Garden. Can play for a long time. The greatest feeling that the entire Nanputuo Temple gave me was majestic. The furnishings between each temple and the corridor were very particular. The sorting order and color matching were well-recognized. The green vegetation was found in the Nanputuo Temple. Properly Dangdang, and the various exhibitions of Nanputuo Temple are in harmony. The treasures of Putuo Temple are solemn and the gold foil is newly decorated. The weather in Xiamen is very hot, but it can't stop the enthusiasm of the people. Next door is the famous Nanputuo vegetarian restaurant Haihui Building.
Tips: The doorway is next to Xiamen University, so many tourists are prone to traffic jams. It is recommended to make plans early. Su Zhaihaihui Building, afternoon break, dinner 17
