Must Visit to the Rifle Range Nature Park
I recently visited Rifle Range Nature Park and was blown away by its natural beauty. The park offers a variety of hiking trails, each with its own unique scenery and wildlife. I saw several species of birds and even spotted some flying squirrels during my visit. The park was well-maintained and had plenty of amenities, including clean restrooms and picnic areas. Overall, I had a fantastic experience and would highly recommend Rifle Range Nature Park to anyone looking for a peaceful and scenic getaway. #urbanexplorer #singapore #nature

🇸🇬SG’s 1st net positive energy nature park
Newly opened in November 2022, Rifle Range Nature Park is located south of Bukit Timah Nature Reserve. Do you know that it is also Singapore’s first net positive energy nature park? The energy consumption of the park is solely provided by the energy harvested from the solar panels installed around the nature with some surplus.
The main highlight of the park is the freshwater wetland converted from the former Sin Seng Quarry, which was once one of the deepest quarries in Singapore. It is best viewed from Colugo Deck, a viewing deck 31 metres above the wetland.
The trails and boardwalks in the park are generally gentle, making the park suitable for people of all ages. One can easily explore the park in under 2 hours. The boardwalks are wheelchair and stroller friendly.
Rifle Range Nature Park opens daily from 7am to 7pm daily. The easiest way to reach there is via an overhead bridge from Beauty World Centre level 4. Take exit A of Beauty World MRT.

A Visit to the Old Railway Station
How about a date to the old railway station this Valentine’s Day? The old railway station is location is bukit Timah and has been recently been restored and open to the public. There you can find the Truss Bridge which spans 45 meters long and forms a part of Singapore’s Green Corridor. It is also a popular photo taking spot for many couples and inidividuals. At the old railway station you can find the original train tracks a platform. Visitors are able to climb up and explore how trains run back then. There is also a cafe at the old staff quarters where you can take a break and have a nice brunch with your date. The area around is beautiful with well manicured plants and flowers. It will sure be an awesome day out for a date.

The Belukar trial at bukit timah
Another trial to visit is the belikar trial where this is trial starts from the main trial area of the bukit timah railway at the green corridor nearer towards the railway mall. Its an off beaten track where you have to find and this trial has a total of 6km where this is separated from both hiking and cycling trials(mostly mountainbikers). As due to the uneven terrain, you ought to be careful as there are times you will see mountain bikers rolling down these hills. But still it's a great walk, provided it doesn't rain of course!

Bukit Timah Nature Trial
The bukit timah nature reserve is a very popular hiking spot among the many Singaporeans especially on weekends where the main highlight of the place is a very steep hike up towards the peak, but this is a short steep hike.
But if that isn't your kind of thing and instead want something easier, you can head to the bukit timah nature trial which is located right by the peak where its a leveled hike that brings you from bukit timah railway tracks(the metal bridge) and towards the forested area ending it of at the railway mall where most morning walkers and joggers will stop here for breakfast!

A hike loop from macritchie
Looking for a nice pleasant weekend walk on a weekend and instead of heading to the common macritchie walking trials, or the bukit timah nature reserve trails or even the green corridor trials why not head along the old lornie Road and make a loop back to macritchie instead.
This road will bring you pass the once heavily used Lonnie road where its now very quiet and filled with unsweep leaves, thru a forested area near the polo club located at Mount pleasant road, which also brings you pass the Colonial buildings which is a police mess hall and also brings you pass horses which is for the polo club.
This is a relatively simple pleasant walk which has very little slops and plus this is also well covered with trees making this a very cooling walk in the morning

Nature hiking trail to Bukit Timah Hill
Find a day with good weather to take a hike up Bukit Timah Hill to experience nature. At the start of the hike, take a mandatory photo with the rock that says Bukit Timah Nature Reserve. The route is the same main path at the start, but you will have to decide between climbing up the steep flight of stairs or the longer and gentler road up when you are closer to the summit. Also, I noticed a route leading to Singapore Quarry which I have yet to explore. 🏔
You can expect to spot monkeys along the way, but remember to keep your food and walk away from them. 🐒
At the Bukit Timah Hill Visitor Centre, there is an exhibition gallery which includes information on forest ecology and tiger replica. 🌳
Other nearby parks to explore - Hindhede Nature Park with a playground and Hindhede Quarry.

Old Bukit Timah Railway Station🛤️2021
On the 12th of December 2021, I've revisited the old Bukit Timah railway station.
The walking trails and paths are now restructured so I no longer have to look for uneven ground, wild encounters of pebbles, and just enjoy the scenic view of beautiful nature.
It was very crowded here but as a self-certified photographer, I take good shots that exclude people from my snaps.
It's about a 3-minute walk from the starting point on rifle range road to the railway station.
Going deeper towards the end will bring you to the Green Corridor but my stamina no longer peaks like before so I would end it off halfway towards a mini garden followed by the atas private estates which leads to the end of the trek.
This trek is highly recommended to everyone. People of any fitness levels can clear it with ease and bring back good photography memories.
Getting there: There is the blue line King Albert Park MRT station nearer to the start point or the Beauty World MRT if you needed to grab some food from its nearby Beauty World food centre or Bukit Timah market & food centre.

Old Bukit Timah Railway Station 🛤️ 2018
On the 16th of September 2018, we decided to visit the old Bukit Timah railway station.
It was before its renovation of the trails and the station.
The trails were both rocky and muddy, will tend to be moist in the morning so have to be really careful back then.
It is now restructured so no worries, just walk and enjoy nature's kisses.
It was kinda empty back then and there weren't many people around despite being a Sunday, probably before bloggers published a guide to it.
Getting there: There is the blue line King Albert Park MRT station nearer to the start point or the Beauty World MRT if you needed to grab some food from its nearby Beauty World food centre or Bukit Timah market & food centre.
You will arrive at the railway station within 3 minutes of walking from the starting point on rifle range road.
Going deeper will bring you to the Green Corridor and I would always take the other path towards the private housing estate where I would end up back to where my starting point is to end my hike.
This is unlike the Bukit Timah hill hike but definitely worth a walk and break some sweat.
A rare and good trekking spot in Singapore that you must visit.

Bukit Timah Nature Park
Bukit Timah nature park is one of the biggest nature park in Singapore . The highest mountain for hikers. A jungle looking park. This is the best spot to expose directly to nature . Great place for workout as there are many steps to climb . What I like about this place is that there are quite a lot of resting spots and have many things to explore. Great place to spend quality time with friends and love ones. The tranquil nature like environment makes you feel like you are in overseas.

I finally climbed the highest peak in Singapore!
I finally climbed the highest peak in Singapore!
Bukit Timah is the highest mountain peak in Singapore,
"Bukit" is the Malay word for hill,
in Chinese, it means "mountain".
Therefore, this highest peak in Singapore should be called—
"Timah Hill".
The highest peak of Bukit Timah is about 164 meters,
actually, it is just a small hill suitable for all ages.
However, it is located in a nature reserve,
with lush trees, birds singing, and flowers blooming, the scenery is very beautiful!
There are only two cities in the world that retain large areas of primary tropical rainforest,
and Singapore is one of them.
Bukit Timah Nature Reserve is such a rainforest.
When you come to Singapore for tourism,
why not take some time to hike to the highest peak on the island, Bukit Timah,
challenge yourself, feel the charm of the tropical rainforest,
get close to nature, and breathe fresh air.

Checking in at Singapore's popular spot - Bukit Timah Truss Bridge
Bukit Timah Truss Bridge
This is a relic of history. Decades ago, this railway was built by Malaysia. After the independence of Singapore, the railway and several meters to its sides still belonged to Malaysia, until 2011, when the two countries signed a land swap agreement, which effectively discontinued the railway.
Previously, this bridge wasn't very popular. In the past two years, people have been so cooped up that they've been digging three feet into the ground to find places to check in, and finally, this place has been hyped up as an internet-famous spot. So, I'm here to check in and take some photos too.
To be honest, the bridge is really small and not that impressive to look at, but, there's a reason for everything, and the bridge has caught up with the era of becoming famous online.
It's a free attraction that doesn't cost any money.

Up Up Up Bukit Timah Hill
People must have thought I am crazy but yes I brought my younger toddler child hiking with me and my husband. It was not easy but it was doable. What did we do? Strap him in a baby carrier and there was no turning back but to head with our hiking trip, all the way up the bukit timah hill.
Bukit Timah nature reserve is home to numerous wildlife animals and it has a lush forest with nice floral and fauna. A nice nature place to escape our busy lifestyles. While hiking up the bukit timah hill, which is within the nature reserve, we spotted a monitor lizard. If you're lucky, you may see other animals. Because we had a child in tow, we chose the easier route up and there were proper pathways. For the adventurous ones, there's even a mountain biking trail and trails of different difficulty levels. On rainy days, these routes may be wet and slippery so be careful.
Upon reaching the summit of bukit timah hill, I was filled with a sense of accomplishment and we completed our hike with a baby. A job well done! Also, there's a summit hut at the top, so take a break first before you head down again.

It’s a jungle out there

The highest point in Singapore, the Bukit Timah Hill is the peak of getting away from the hustle and bustle of city life .The Nature Reserve has a variety of plants, animals and forest life along with some rare insects.
Once you enter the Reserve, you will be greeted with a Visitor Centre. The Visitor Centre contains a small exhibition in which you can learn more about the Reserve. Amenities such as washrooms and water dispensers can also be found.
Will highly recommend to wear a comfortable footwear as it going to be upslope all the way and near to the top there will be a long flight of stair who know perhaps you can see some monkeys like I did
