I'm sure a Google search for Osaka itineraries will yield plenty of videos and articles sharing experiences. Below is a short record of my first trip to Osaka. Feel free to share your experiences and recommend your favorite spots! I really want to go back again! Day 1: Kansai Airport - Hotel Check-in - Shinsaibashi ➡️I didn't buy train tickets from the airport to Namba online in advance because the Nankai Kyuko trains are frequent and convenient! ➡️On your first day in Osaka, head straight to Shinsaibashi and shop till you drop! D2: Shinsaibashi - Fushimi Inari Shrine - Nishiki Market - Kiyomizu-dera Temple - Sannenzaka - Ninenzaka - Yasaka Shrine - Gion - Hanamikoji Street - Dotonbori - Shinsaibashi ➡️Fushimi Inari Shrine and Kiyomizu-dera Temple are incredibly crowded...it's a real leg workout! There are rows of bright orange torii gates, traditional Japanese architecture, and street vendors selling skewers and snacks. It's a sinful way to burn off energy and replenish your calories... ➡️Nishiki Market is narrow but packed with delicious food. Eat your way through every stall! D3: Shinsaibashi - Arashiyama - Kitano Tenmangu Shrine - Kinkaku-ji Temple - Shinsaibashi ➡️You can take the Keisei Train's Arashiyama sightseeing train. The carriages are decorated in a very Japanese style. Goo~ ➡️Kitano Tenmangu Shrine hosts the Tenjin Market on the 25th of every month, with the largest markets in January and December. February coincides with plum blossom season, making it quite lively. D4: Shinsaibashi - Kuromon Market - Osaka Castle/Osaka Keep - Tempozan Ferris Wheel - Tsutenkaku Observatory/Tower Sliding Platform - Shinsaibashi ➡️I recommend purchasing the Osaka Amazing Pass. With proper planning, you can visit several attractions and save on transportation and entrance fees. The Osaka Castle cruise, Ferris wheel, and observation deck offer a different perspective of Osaka. ➡️The plum grove outside Osaka Castle is a beautiful and fragrant expanse of plum blossoms. D5: Shinsaibashi - Universal Studios Japan - Shinsaibashi ➡️The earliest I got up that day, just as dawn was breaking... I headed out, but the Nintendo Park and Harry Potter Park were so much fun! I assumed it would be a non-smoking room, but I ignored it and it smelled a bit. It also had a musty, musty smell. So the next day, I left the air conditioning on full blast and went out. Thankfully, when I returned to my room after finishing my day, the unpleasant smells were completely gone! Other than that, I really liked this hotel. The location was great, there was a 24-hour supermarket nearby, and all the convenience stores were within a five-minute walk. As a solo traveler, the room size was perfect for me. There was a small sofa and table, which was great for snacking and storing my belongings. There were two elevators, which were almost always short and easy to get to. Luckily, we found great deals on flights from Trip.com for around 8,000 THB per person with Greater Bay Airline. I'll review the airline booking part first. I was impressed with everything, both before and during the flight. This airline offers a transfer in Hong Kong, but the wait wasn't long, about 3 hours, which we considered a good stopover. The outbound flight had a 20-minute weather delay, which was acceptable. The seats were comfortable and not cramped; I'm 168 cm tall and could stretch my legs comfortably. Onboard, they offered water and tea with two packets of cookies. I recommend having a light snack beforehand, but the airline also sells meals. The return flight had no delays at all; we landed exactly on time. Very impressed! Now, regarding our Japan itinerary, we planned to focus on nature. On the first day, we arrived around 3 PM, so we strolled around the Shinsaibashi area. On the second day, we planned to go play in the snow at Biwako and Otsu. We had to wake up early to get there before it got crowded, so I recommend allocating plenty of time. On the third day, we spent the whole day in Kyoto. It snowed all day, and we visited three places: the Golden Temple, the Fushimi Inari Shrine, and the Uji Bridge. It was very cold. In the evening, we went shopping in the city. On the fourth day, we went shopping and visited Kobe Tower to relax by the sea. On the fifth day, we returned from Japan. The last two photos show the results of this trip. Lastly, for two people, the total expenses including airfare, accommodation, mobile SIM cards, food, and shopping were approximately 43,000 baht.

This is one of Osaka's most legendary spiritual spots, but its name at the entrance is so unique that few can pronounce it. Known as the Samuhara Shrine, it is said that the characters サムハラ are divine symbols. Carrying an amulet with these characters is believed to grant the bearer divine protection. Sounds mystical, doesn't it? According to legend, during the construction of the Shinkansen, an accident occurred, but a worker wearing a ring engraved with the Samuhara characters survived unscathed. Stories like this have multiplied over time, attracting many devotees to the shrine. The protective ring amulet, reputed to be extremely hard to obtain, is often sold out. During this year's first shrine visit (Hatsumode), it was already unavailable. As for the shrine itself, the Samuhara deity is said to represent the collective power of three creation gods: Amenominakanushi, Takamimusubi, and Kamimusubi. For this reason, some also refer to it as the Shrine of the Three Creation Gods. Adjacent to the shrine is the Osaka Prefectural Riot Police headquarters. But that's not true at all. 1️⃣ Eat Where the Locals Eat 7/11, Lawson, FamilyMart, and small traditional cafes are not compromises—they're the norm. - Onigiri - Tonkatsu sandwiches - Ramen - Gyoza For just $3–7 (400–700₽), you can have a great meal. Popular restaurants with long lines are 2–3 times more expensive and take up a lot of time. You might wait in line for up to 3 hours. During my first few days, I wasted a lot of time and energy this way. Later, I got used to shopping at 7/11 and tried many delicious options. 📍By the way, there's a post in my profile about what to buy at convenience stores and which cafes in Tokyo are really worth visiting. 2️⃣ Plan Your Day by Districts and Use Day Passes In Japan, extra trips can quickly drain your budget, and taxis are quite expensive. - Running across the city costs thousands on transport - Planning your day by district allows you to walk everywhere - Day passes make metro and buses cheaper (especially in Kyoto!) 3️⃣ Book Popular Spots in Advance In Japan, everything operates on time slots. - Observation decks - Museums - Themed cafes - Trains and tours If you buy tickets on the same day, you'll pay more or might not get in at all. You'll also waste time in lines. I booked many places in advance on trip.com, especially popular ones like Shibuya Sky (the best time slots are sold out a month in advance). 📌 These three rules help you travel in Japan without unnecessary expenses and stress.

It's a super popular and delicious spot. 🛍️ Then — Shinsaibashi Suji, a district for shopping and vintage finds. - Hedy Vintage Shop Osaka - Allu Vintage - Donguri Kyowakoku, a Ghibli store Afterwards — America Mura. Street art, urban brands, and the youthful energy of the city. 🍽 Lunch Gyukatsu Motomura Namba Midosuji — the best gyukatsu made from marbled beef, approximately 1150 ₽ for a full meal. I still miss it. 🍰 Dessert - the popular Rikuro’s Namba Main Branch Japanese fluffy cheesecake, around 570 ₽. Next — Namba Yasaka Jinja, a shrine with a giant lion's head, one of the most unique spots in Osaka. 🌙 Evening and dinner: Daiki Suisan Dotonbori - conveyor belt sushi for up to 1000 ₽ for a full meal. There's always a line, but seating is quick. If you want alternatives: Namba Okonomiyaki Ajinoya Honten - 880 ₽ Tempura Makino Namba - 830 ₽ Ramen Zundo Ya Shinsaibashi - 530 ₽ I recommend heading to Den Den Town after dinner, where you'll find arcade machines, comics, figurines, and capsule toys for 200–400 yen. Unfortunately, it was destroyed by fire. The second-generation tower, built in 1956, was designed by Tachū Naitō, the architect of Tokyo Tower, and modeled after the Eiffel Tower. Including its lightning rod, the tower reaches a height of 103 meters. This area encapsulates Osaka's post-war vitality and the extravagant decorations favored by Osaka merchants. One must-visit spot here is the shrine of Billiken, the God of Luck. As evening falls and night descends, the bustling Shinsekai shopping street comes alive with crowds, street vendors, and game stalls, making it a popular destination for tourists. My favorite spot is the nearby Spa World. From its staircase, you can capture a panoramic view of the lively Shinsekai. On the top floor, you can take a unique photo featuring two Tsutenkaku towers by positioning yourself against the wall. Lastly, let’s talk about my favorite part—the base of Tsutenkaku. While everyone loves photographing its grandeur, the base holds hidden gems. After purchasing your ticket at the entrance, you'll receive a framed postcard.
