THE SAINTE CHAPELLE.
The Sainte-Chapelle (French: [sɛ̃t ʃapɛl]; English: Holy Chapel) is a royal chapel in the Gothic style, within the medieval Palais de la Cité, the residence of the Kings of France until the 14th century, on the Île de la Cité in the River Seine in Paris, France.
Construction began sometime after 1238 and the chapel was consecrated on 26 April 1248.[2] The Sainte-Chapelle is considered among the highest achievements of the Rayonnant period of Gothic architecture. It was commissioned by King Louis IX of France to house his collection of Passion relics, including Christ's Crown of Thorns – one of the most important relics in medieval Christendom. This was later held in the nearby Notre-Dame Cathedral until the 2019 fire, which it survived.

Paris Wonders Guide List 🐩✨
Paris is an absolute dream, and honestly, every “tourist” spot lives up to the hype in its own way. Here is my quick breakdown for anyone planning their trip:
1️⃣ EIFFEL TOWER: The “Iron Lady” is non-negotiable. Even if you don’t go up, the views from the Champ de Mars at night when it sparkles are cinematic. If you do go up, look for the glass floor on the first level for a mini-thrill.
2️⃣ LOUVRE MUSEUM: It is massive—don’t even try to see everything in one day. The Louvre Pyramid entrance is a piece of art itself, but the lines can be brutal, so definitely book tickets in advance.
3️⃣ NOTRE-DAME CATHEDRAL OF PARIS: After years of restoration, it is finally open again and more beautiful than ever. The best part? Entry is still free, though you should reserve a time slot online to avoid the massive queues.
4️⃣ THE CATACOMBS OF PARIS: This is the city’s “darker” side—an underground labyrinth holding the remains of 6 million people. It’s eerie but fascinating.
📌 Pro tip: Wear sturdy shoes and bring a light jacket; it’s a constant 14°C (57°F) down there, no matter how hot it is outside.
5️⃣ SAINTE-CHAPELLE: If you want “stained glass goals”, this is it. It’s smaller than Notre-Dame but feels like standing inside a giant jewel box.
6️⃣ BASILIQUE DU SACRÉ-CŒUR DE MONTMARTRE: Sitting on the steps of this white-domed basilica at sunset is a rite of passage. Between the street performers playing music and the sweeping views of the entire city, it is the best place to just sit and exist for an hour.
Paris is a lot of walking, so pack comfortable shoes! If you’re short on time, a Seine River Cruise is the perfect way to see almost all these landmarks in one go while resting your feet ! ~ 🩵

Symphony of Stained Glass on Île de la Cité

🌟Sainte-Chapelle is, without question, one of Paris's most stunning and essential sights. The moment you ascend to the upper chapel, you are confronted with a breathtaking "wall of glass," with 15 colossal stained-glass windows depicting over a thousand biblical scenes. The intricate details and vibrant colors are a magnificent spectacle, especially on a sunny day. With its rich history and a smaller, more intimate scale than Notre-Dame, it offers a more personal and deeply moving experience. It is a true testament to Gothic architectural genius and a must-see for anyone
Sainte-Chapelle is a work of art that stands apart, not for its size, but for its sheer, breathtaking beauty. Located on the historic Île de la Cité, this 13th-century royal chapel is a masterpiece of Rayonnant Gothic architecture, a style that prioritized light and space. While other travel reviews may simply describe it as "a chapel with nice stained glass," they often fail to capture the profound, almost spiritual, experience of being immersed in a vibrant tapestry of biblical light. This isn't just a building; it's a jewel box of color and faith, a testament to the power of medieval artistry.
📌Location: Sainte-Chapelle is located at 10 Boulevard du Palais, 75001 Paris, France. It is situated on the Île de la Cité, within the courtyard of the Palais de Justice, and is just a short walk from the Notre-Dame Cathedral.
💸Price:
* Adult Ticket: Around €11.50 for a full-price ticket.
* Combined Ticket: A combined ticket to visit both Sainte-Chapelle and the nearby Conciergerie is available for around €18.50.
* Free Admission: Entry is free for visitors under 18, and for those aged 18-25 who are citizens or residents of the European Union. It is also free on the first Sunday of the month from January to March and from November to December.
* Online Booking: It is highly recommended to book your tickets and a time slot online in advance to avoid long lines at the security check.

Originally built in the 13th century by King Louis IX to house his collection of Passion Relics, including what was believed to be Christ’s Crown of Thorns, Sainte-Chapelle is renowned for its incredible stained glass windows. The upper chapel is a breathtaking sight, with walls that are almost entirely made of stained glass, soaring 15 meters high, depicting over 1,100 scenes from the Bible in brilliant hues of red, blue, green, and gold. Getting there: You can take underground and stop at Cité station. The place is just 2 minutes’ walk away from the station.
Highlights: The Sainte-Chapelle is a fantastic example of historic and breathtaking architecture. I arrived 30 minutes early for the 9 am booking. Saw a long line up for those without advanced booking. Once you go inside, you need to be patient to get the best photo spot as everyone wants to take their pictures. Also, be prepared to have a few neck cramps from looking at all the stained glass, it was truly amazing.

Sainte Chapelle is a must-see site!
A quick stop in Paris is not complete until you visit the gorgeous Sainte Chapelle. The gothic style royal chapel was the home to the Kings of France until the 14th century. Its history is as breathtaking as its aesthetics. It was easy to purchase tickets online in advance in order to skip the long lines. It’s definitely worth the trip, with lots of dining options nearby. It’s also within walking distance to Notre Dame.#Saintechapelle #paris #wanderlust

Visit the church of Sainte Chapelle
Sainte Chapelle is located in the palace grounds on an island in the middle of the Seine River, Île de la Cité, near Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris. It is an old Roman Catholic church that is an important monument of France. It was built to house the relics of Sainte Chapelle, which were the instruments used to torture Jesus. The architecture in the Gothic era is a beautiful and stunning glass pattern decorated with striking colors. The atmosphere is very peaceful. Although the place is not very large, it is considered a rare work of art. You can travel by MRT Line 4 and get off at the Cite subway station. #TravelAbroad #TravelFrance
