De Zuo, the living fossil of the former Soviet Union
full name is the Moldavia Soviet Socialist Republic along the Transnistre River
[Traveling around Eastern Europe] The country that does not exist - Germany left
Since the Soviet Union immigrated a large number of Russians to the left bank of the Dniester River in Moldova, the ideology of this region is closer to the Soviet Union, so independent in Moldova Later, the region announced its independence from Moldova and established the Moldavia Republic along the Dniester River (De Zuo), but it was not recognized by the international community.
This is the fourth country I have not had a United Nations seat since Naka, Northern Cyprus and Western Sahara. The young lady of the tourist information center told me that she knew that some Chinese tour groups would take the bus to come here to punch in, and I was the first Chinese tourist she saw alone. Like the Armenian Naka, the capital Tiraspol is full of soldiers. It is just today to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the end of the Nazi occupation of Tiraspol. There are heavy weapons such as armored vehicles and mortars on the downtown square, but the number seems to be pitiful.
De Zuo retains important elements of the Soviet era, whether it is a Russian-style onion church or a giant Lenin statue at the entrance to the parliament. Their dreams will be merged into Russia one day, but the attitude of the Russian government has always been very embarrassing. The church on the central square is accompanied by tanks, next to the Mausoleum of the War of Independence. I watched the children climb up and down on the tank. I don't know if it was good or bad to grow up with the cannon. And Jesus on the outer wall of the church looked at the tank every day, not knowing what his mood was.
Some people say that Russia inherited the land of the Soviet Union, and that De Zuo really inherited the soul of the Soviet Union.

Ciuflea Monastery
During Soviet times the Nativity Cathedral was used as an exhibition hall and hence the main church of Chisinau was moved to the Ciuflea Monastery. During that time it became a cathedral, following the independence from the Soviet Union it became once again a monastery. The monastery is a work of art. Blue like the sky with some really impressive architecture on the outside.
The building on the inside has 1 main altar and 2 side ones which are beautifully crafted. It reminded us quite a lot of the Blue Church in Bratislava with similar nuances of blue and fairly vivid colours. Inside there are biblical depictions that showcase true craftmanship which make one loose themselves in these paintings.

National History Museum of Moldova Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)

The National History Museum Originally built as a lyceum, this then later became what it is today. The museum is structured into many scientific sections: Ancient History and Archaeology, Medieval History, History of Basarabia, Contemporary History, Treasures.
The museum highlights artefacts that showcase a common heritage with Romania and the wider Romanian space as well as items from Soviet and Russian imperial rule.
One thing we found very interesting is that whilst the objects are described i.e. this is a fountain pen, there aren’t any descriptions to explain the background behind those objects. So some background knowledge beforehand is needed to fully appreciate the museum and its artefacts.
