A group of young people from Shanghai were swept up by the tide of the times and plunged headfirst into this unfamiliar black soil. The imagined "poetry and distant places" was soon worn down by the harsh reality. The vast reclaimed land stretched endlessly, border patrol steps marked dawn and dusk, and day after day of hardship and monotony was filled with longing to return home. But he also said that looking back years later, that time in Northeast China held so many precious memories. Especially the lifelong comradeship, which made this black soil unintentionally become his second hometown. Returning to Mingshan Town with my father, everything before my eyes was both familiar and strange. Just across the river, the Russian village on the opposite bank is clearly visible, truly just a step away. On clear days, the scenery along the Heilongjiang River is as beautiful as a prose poem.
