The unique northern nature of the Magadan region has always been distinguished by its beauty and harshness. I have visited many beautiful bays, including Gertner Bay, which is located 25 minutes away from the city of Magadan. During low tide in Gertner Bay, the sea recedes by more than 50 meters.

During low tide, the sea becomes so shallow that the seabed is exposed. The seabed often turns white due to the abundance of feeding seagulls. The bay has beautiful sunsets, and the colors of nature are unique and unreal. In winter, the coast is covered with a dazzling layer of ice.
The bay is beautiful at any time of the year. In August 2025, the bay's beach was improved, and comfortable recreation areas were created. If you're lucky, you may spot seals, which can be seen in the early morning when they are having breakfast.
There is a bus stop, a cafe, the Dukcha Ethnic Park, and recreation areas near the bay.
