“A Year in Edinburgh: Four Seasons, One Treasure of a Lifetime 🇬🇧🍂❄️🌸☀️”
#uktrip
A year in Edinburgh as a master’s student — a chapter of my life that I will treasure forever.
I first set foot in Edinburgh on a sunny afternoon. The moment the plane landed, my heart raced with excitement and nerves. Stepping out of the airport, the crisp air greeted me, carrying a hint of autumn. I wheeled my suitcase along the cobbled streets, flanked by historic buildings that seemed to whisper centuries of stories with every brick and stone.
I couldn’t wait to take out my camera. Sunlight filtered through the leaves, casting golden patterns on the stone pavements. The autumn leaves swayed gently in the breeze, and in that moment, it felt like stepping into a painting. In the distance, the castle glimmered in the sunlight, filling me with anticipation for the year ahead.
Visiting Edinburgh Castle for the first time was unforgettable. Standing atop the fortress, overlooking the city, I felt overwhelmed with awe. I told myself, “This is my new home. I will cherish every single day here.” At that moment, I knew I was about to fall deeply in love with this city.

❄️ Winter in Edinburgh
Winter in Edinburgh is magical. The first snow in November made me so excited. Snowflakes danced in the air, blanketing the city in white. My friends and I had snowball fights and built snowmen — our hands red and cold, yet our hearts warm. We left footprints in the snow, marking these joyful moments.
Winter days were short — by 3:30 PM, darkness fell. Street lamps lit up, casting a soft glow over the city. Walking along the streets, seeing warm lights through shop windows, I felt the comforting warmth of home. I wrote in my diary, “Even far from home, this city has its own cozy warmth.”

🌸 Spring in Edinburgh
Spring brought life and vitality. Trees sprouted fresh green leaves, and flowers bloomed in the gentle breeze. Walking through the streets, I felt the energy of nature in every step.
Cherry blossoms swayed in the spring wind, petals falling like a delicate pink rain. I often sat on garden benches, quietly soaking in the beauty of the season. Sharing it with friends online, I wrote, “Spring in Edinburgh reminds me that all beautiful things will come in their time.”

A year in Edinburgh was filled with small joys and endless discoveries. I loved the streets, the architecture, the people. Each stroll brought new delights — the morning sun, the starry night sky — every moment worth cherishing. On graduation night, under the stars, I made a wish: “May I always treasure every moment, just like I did in Edinburgh.”
Though I have graduated and moved on, every memory of Edinburgh remains etched in my heart. That year taught me gratitude, mindfulness, and how to savor life’s fleeting beauty. The four seasons in Edinburgh will always be a treasure of a lifetime — a place I will forever call home in my heart.
