#easytravelpost After all the hiking and exploring around the Blue Mountains, I definitely needed a little chocolate therapy! 😂🍫 That’s when I found Blue Mountains Chocolate Company, and honestly, it was such a lovely neighbourhood chocolate café to slow down and recharge. My favourite was their rich hot chocolate, especially the real chocolate style where you get that proper chocolate piece that melts into the warm milk. Watching it melt and stirring it into a creamy, chocolatey drink was such a satisfying experience! ☕🍫 I also loved browsing the assorted chocolates made here, which made perfect little souvenirs to bring home. There were also tempting cakes and desserts for anyone with a sweet tooth. 🍰 The café itself was another highlight for me. I really liked the cosy indoor and outdoor seating, with beautiful decorations and a relaxed mountain atmosphere. After spending hours surrounded by cliffs and hiking trails, sitting down with a hot chocolate in this peaceful setting felt like the perfect ending. For me, this wasn’t just a café stop — it was a sweet little Blue Mountains experience. 🏔️🍫 My tip: come after your hike, order the real hot chocolate, take your time and enjoy the scenery. #slowtraveling After spending the day surrounded by the huge and dramatic landscapes of the Blue Mountains, I really enjoyed slowing down in Katoomba, a charming mountain town west of Sydney. 🏔️ What I loved most was simply wandering around its streets. There are vintage-style shopfronts, cafés, restaurants, small boutiques and art shops, giving the town a creative and slightly old-fashioned character. I also enjoyed exploring the Katoomba Arcade, which added even more charm to my slow stroll. 🛍️✨ One thing that made Katoomba even more interesting for me was its built heritage and colourful murals. As I walked around, I noticed historic buildings, older architectural details and street art that added character to the town. It felt like every corner had a little story to tell. 🎨🏛️ Katoomba grew significantly in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, with its development linked to mining, the railway and later tourism as visitors came to experience the spectacular Blue Mountains. Today, that history still blends beautifully with the town’s creative culture. For me, this was the perfect slow-travel stroll after a full day of mountain adventures. No rushing and no packed itinerary — just walking, exploring and enjoying the cooler mountain-town atmosphere. 🌿 💡 My tip: Explore the shops earlier, as many retail stores close around late afternoon or early evening. Restaurants and bars, however, keep the town lively into the night. I ended my evening with a satisfying Chinese BBQ dinner, which was the perfect reward after all my walking and hiking! 😂🥢 For me, Katoomba wasn’t just somewhere to stay after visiting the Blue Mountains. Most people visiting Katoomba head straight to the Three Sisters, but there are so many beautiful viewpoints around the Blue Mountains that are much easier to miss. I found Boars Head Lookout while driving around Katoomba and decided to stop. I'm glad I did. It's located along Cliff Drive, not far from the main attractions, but the scenery feels completely different. Instead of looking across the Jamison Valley towards the Three Sisters, this side looks out towards the Megalong Valley and Narrow Neck, with huge sandstone cliffs and layers of mountains stretching into the distance. The best part is that you don't need to do a big hike to enjoy it. I came here expecting beautiful views, but honestly… I was still blown away by how incredible it was in real life. 😍🏔️ The three main rides gave me completely different experiences — Scenic Skyway, Scenic Cableway and Scenic Railway. 🚡🚠🚂 The Skyway was my favourite for the incredible views, while the Railway gave me that adventurous feeling with its seriously steep descent into the rainforest. What I loved was being able to experience the mountains from different angles — high above the valleys, deep inside the rainforest and along the dramatic cliff scenery. Every ride felt like another perspective of this massive landscape. And the views! 😱 I was amazed by sights around Katoomba Falls, Cahill’s Lookout and the iconic Three Sisters, with endless layers of mountains and lush greenery stretching into the distance. 🌿💙 I honestly kept thinking, “How can somewhere look this good in real life?” Photos really don’t capture the scale. My personal tip: don’t just ride everything and leave. Take your time between the rides, walk the Scenic Walkway, stop at the viewpoints and actually soak in the scenery. For me, Scenic World wasn’t just another tourist attraction — it was one of the highlights of my entire Blue Mountains trip. 🏔️✨ Three rides. Endless views. #adventuretrips My adventure at Blue Mountains, Katoomba was definitely one of those travel days that pushed my legs but completely rewarded my eyes! 😂🥾⛰️ I spent at least 8 hours exploring and hiking, and honestly, every steep step was worth it. I started around the famous Three Sisters and Echo Point, then continued along the beautiful Prince Henry Cliff Walk, one of my favourite parts of the day. 🌿🥾 The trail took me through lush bushland and past dramatic lookouts, sandstone cliffs and incredible views over the vast Blue Mountains landscape. From there, I continued exploring scenic trails towards the dramatic cliff areas and down through the valleys towards Scenic World. This was not just a casual walk for me — there were steep stairways, cliffside trails, canyon views and plenty of ups and downs! The scenery was simply insane. 😍 Looking out over the vast V-shaped valleys, dramatic sandstone cliffs and ancient rock layers made me realise how massive the Blue Mountains really are. Along the way, I also loved spotting unique flora and interesting natural rock formations — some parts honestly felt like walking through a completely different world. 🌿🪨 📸 And the views? Sunrise, daytime or sunset, this place is an absolute dream for scenic photography. Every lookout seemed to give me another reason to stop, catch my breath and take another photo! 🍎 My personal hiking survival kit: I carried apples, chocolate bars and plenty of drinks in my backpack. Trust me, after all those stairs, you will appreciate having a quick energy boost! 😂 🥾 My personal safety tips: · Wear proper, comfortable hiking shoes with good grip. · Bring a backpack so your hands stay free. · Carry enough drinking water and some easy snacks. · Check the trail conditions and allow plenty of time — don’t rush before sunset. · Wear a light jacket for early morning and evening. When I visited, temperatures around 15–20°C felt comfortable for hiking but cooler when the sun went down. · Take breaks. The stairs and elevation changes can be tiring! ❤️ It was a long day, my legs were definitely feeling it by the end, but I would do it again. For me, this was not just sightseeing — this was a real Blue Mountains adventure!

#easytravelpost My Blue Mountains adventure started much earlier than the mountains themselves — at 7am with breakfast at Table 30 Restaurant inside PARKROYAL Parramatta! 😄 Honestly, when I have a full day of travelling ahead, I always make sure I don’t leave the hotel with an empty stomach. I need my breakfast, coffee and a little quiet time before the adventure begins! ☕😂 The breakfast selection wasn’t massive, but for me, it had everything I actually wanted and needed. There was an egg station, crispy bacon, cheese, cereals, vegetables and fresh fruits — a simple but satisfying Australian-style breakfast spread. 🍳🥓🍉 One thing I really enjoyed was the juice pressing station. I liked starting the morning with a fresh juice, followed by a good cup of coffee to properly wake myself up. ☕🍊 I actually prefer this kind of breakfast when travelling. I don’t need 100 different dishes — just good basic options, fresh fruits, coffee and enough food to keep me energised for a long day of exploring. By the time I finished breakfast, I was full, awake and ready to leave Parramatta for the Blue Mountains! 🏔️🚗 My personal travel rule: before a big adventure, eat well, drink your coffee and never underestimate the power of a good breakfast at 7am! 😄☕🍳

I did the Lapstone Zig Zag Walk yesterday and honestly really enjoyed this one. It’s not the kind of Blue Mountains walk with one huge famous lookout at the end — instead, you’re walking through the bush while discovering bits of old railway history along the way. I started from Zig Zag Street parking and followed the old route, stopping at different viewpoints before eventually reaching the impressive Knapsack Bridge. I knew absolutely nothing about the bridge when I got there but after looking it up, the history is actually fascinating. The sandstone viaduct was completed in 1865 and originally carried trains as part of the old Lapstone Zig Zag railway. The Zig Zag was built to help trains climb the steep Lapstone incline, with trains having to reverse direction as they made their way up the mountain. Standing underneath those huge sandstone arches definitely makes you appreciate the engineering a little more. The walk itself was really pleasant too — a mixture of wide old roads, bush tracks, rock cuttings, bridges and plenty of greenery. I also saw lots of people walking their dogs, so it seems to be a popular local weekend walk. I unfortunately ran out of time and didn’t continue on to Elizabeth Lookout and the other viewpoints, so there is definitely more here to explore. I wouldn’t mind coming back and doing a longer version next time. If you like walks that combine nature + history, this is a really nice one to add to your Blue Mountains list. I’ll be very real — the Blue Mountains were one of those places I added because it felt like something you’re “supposed” to do when you’re in Sydney. And after going? I’m glad I saw it once, but I probably wouldn’t make the trip out again anytime soon 😂 It’s quite far, it takes up a big chunk of the day, and personally I don’t think I need to see the same view twice. That said, I actually enjoyed it more than I expected. We stopped at Echo Point, where you get the famous view of the Three Sisters. Before going, I honestly thought it was just three rock formations everyone took photos of and that was it. Then I found out there are Aboriginal stories connected to the Three Sisters, and that gave the place a bit more meaning for me. There are different versions of the story, but one commonly told version is about three sisters who were turned to stone. I’m not going to pretend I suddenly became super emotional over the rocks 😂 but knowing there was a story behind them definitely made me appreciate the stop more than if I had just walked up, taken a photo and left. The part I probably liked most wasn’t even the main viewpoint though. It was just being away from Sydney for a while. The weather felt cooler, everything was quieter, and there were a few moments where we just sat around and looked out at the mountains without really doing anything. That was probably the nicest part for me. So if you ask me whether the Blue Mountains are worth it? If it’s your first time in Sydney and you have an extra day, yes. Go once. But if you’re already short on time, I also wouldn’t say you’re missing your entire Australia trip by skipping it. For me, it was more of a “I’m happy I experienced it” place rather than a “I need to come back again” place. Flying from Melbourne to Cairns, then to Sydney, and back to Melbourne—you will spend a lot of time in airports. If you hate packing and unpacking, this might annoy you. Now, let’s talk about the food, which is what I actually care about: · In Cairns, we did the Kuranda Rainforest trip. The Aussie BBQ in the rainforest was decent—good, honest grilled meats, but nothing that blew my mind compared to the steaks we get back home in the Gulf. However, the seafood buffet near the Great Barrier Reef was actually worth the hype. Fresh, cold prawns and local fish. I definitely ate my money’s worth there. · Sydney & Blue Mountains: They serve a 'Western-style steak' at the scenic restaurant in the Blue Mountains. The view of the mountains is great, but the steak itself? A bit overcooked for my liking. If you go, temper your expectations for the food and just enjoy the scenery. · Melbourne was my favorite, mostly because I had a full free day on Day 9 to just wander around the city and find my own spots. The coffee culture there is real, and the food scene is incredibly diverse. Skip the tourist traps and just walk down the laneways to find local joints. A few quick rants and tips for anyone planning to go: 1. The weather in July is freezing! Coming from Doha’s summer heat, landing in Melbourne's winter was a shock to the system. Pack a proper heavy jacket and thermal layers. Do not underestimate the wind. 2. The sun is deceptively strong even when it’s cold. I forgot my sunglasses on day one and my eyes were watering the whole day. Bring sunglasses and sunscreen. 3. Get a local SIM card immediately at the airport. Roaming is overpriced and you’ll need Google Maps to find the actually good restaurants, not just the ones tour guides push on you. 4. Don't forget a flat three-pin adaptor. Overall, Australia has great ingredients, but you have to seek out the good spots yourself. Don't just rely on the standard group-tour meals if you actually care about what you eat!

I recently visited this wonderful Australian city, a must visit destination that you should have in your list! I went for 3 full days and it was perfect, the right amount of days. Day 1: Visit the Opera House, walk thru the Botanic Garden of Sidney, walk the Harbour Bridge, and go to The Rocks, all this destinations are near each other so you can do all walking in the first day. Day 2: Visit the iconic Bondi Beach, walk around that area, try Harris coffee shop, and then if you like thrift shopping, i recommend to go to surry hills, great vintage shops there and a beautiful area, in the afternoon we visited Newtown, very cool area. Day 3: Walk the waterfalls and tracks of the Blue Mountains, go to see the three sisters, and eat around the old towns near by. Tips: Very easy and accessible to move in public transport, train and bus.
