Ischia travel guide and discussion

#summerbeachnights Before you read do Follow me, so I can add value for your future travels Here is how I Did it - I flew from London to Naples, made Naples my base, and visited Capri and Ischia by ferry. And genuinely? I would do it this way again. I found a cheap stay/Airbnb in Naples, which meant I could wake up in one of Italy’s most chaotic, colourful and food-obsessed cities, have a proper Neapolitan coffee in the morning, and then simply walk down towards the port and jump on a ferry. ⛴️ First stop: CAPRI 🍋💙 The moment you arrive, you understand the hype. Blue water, dramatic cliffs, little streets climbing into the hills and those postcard views everywhere you turn. But here is the important part: I didn’t need a Capri hotel to experience Capri. I went over for the day, explored the island, enjoyed the views and that beautiful Capri summer atmosphere, then caught the ferry back to Naples. No £500-a-night room required. 😅 Then I did ISCHIA 🌋🌊 This one surprised me even more. Ischia has a completely different energy from Capri. It felt greener, more relaxed and less about being seen. Beaches, thermal-island vibes, colourful Italian streets and gorgeous views, exactly the kind of place where you suddenly start wondering why you don’t live in Italy. Again, I enjoyed the island during the day and simply returned to my inexpensive Naples base afterwards. And Naples itself wasn’t just somewhere I slept. That would be a huge mistake. I wandered through the narrow streets, ate ridiculously good pizza, grabbed pastries and espresso, watched scooters somehow squeeze through spaces that shouldn’t physically be possible 😂 and spent evenings just enjoying the atmosphere. 🍕 FOOD TIP: Naples is one city where eating extremely well doesn’t have to destroy your budget. If you’re planning a similar trip, look around the historic centre for traditional trattorias and pizzerias rather than automatically eating beside the biggest tourist sights. One place worth putting on your list is La Locanda Gesù Vecchio for proper Neapolitan cooking. My favourite part was that this trip felt expensive without actually being expensive. ✈️ London → Naples 🏠 Budget hotel/Airbnb in Naples ⛴️ Naples → Capri → Naples ⛴️ Naples → Ischia → Naples 🍕 Proper Neapolitan food ☕ Far too many Italian coffees 🌊 Two incredible islands 💰 My trip: under £400 Obviously prices change depending on flights, dates and how early you book, but the strategy is the important part. Don’t automatically stay where everyone tells you to stay. In peak summer, Capri and Ischia accommodation can become seriously expensive. Staying in Naples gave me the best of both worlds: Naples at night, the islands during the day, and hundreds of pounds left in my pocket. If you’re travelling from London and want that dreamy Italian-island summer without paying dreamy Italian-island hotel prices, SAVE THIS IDEA. 🇮🇹❤️ Sometimes the best travel hack isn’t finding a cheaper hotel. It’s sleeping somewhere else. 😉 #Naples #Napoli #Capri #Ischia #ItalySummer #TravelHack #LondonToItaly #CapriItaly #IschiaItaly #NaplesItaly #AmalfiCoast #ItalianSummer #SummerInItaly

#summerbeachnights If you want to visit Ischia without spending too much on transportation, consider traveling from Pozzuoli instead of Naples. There are several very affordable options to reach the island by sea, with one-way tickets starting from around €5. Boats from Pozzuoli arrive at Casamicciola Terme, which is a convenient starting point for exploring Ischia. The journey itself is part of the experience. As you leave the Bay of Pozzuoli behind, you can enjoy beautiful views of the coastline and the Gulf of Naples. 📍 Arrival: Casamicciola Terme You don’t need a car to explore Ischia. The island has an extensive public bus network connecting its main towns, beaches and resorts. If you only have one day, the circular bus routes are a great option. They allow you to travel around the island, enjoy the scenery and combine sightseeing with some time at the beach. 🌊 Visit Sant’Angelo One of the most beautiful places to visit is Sant’Angelo, a small pedestrian seaside village in the south of Ischia. The journey there is worth it too, with beautiful views of the mountains and coastline along the way. Get off the bus, walk down towards the sea and spend some time exploring the narrow streets and waterfront. 🏖️ Leave some time for the beach Ischia is not only about sightseeing. I recommend leaving at least an hour for swimming and relaxing by the sea. If your return boat leaves from Casamicciola, it is convenient to finish your day at one of the beaches nearby. This way, you won’t have to cross the entire island again before departure. ⛴️ Why travel from Pozzuoli? Pozzuoli is a particularly convenient starting point if you’re staying in the Phlegraean Fields area. The crossing is relatively short, and tickets to Ischia can start from just €5 each way. For a simple one-day itinerary: Pozzuoli → Casamicciola → explore Ischia by bus → Sant’Angelo → beach → Casamicciola → Pozzuoli. No car and no expensive organized tour are necessary — Ischia is surprisingly easy to explore independently, even on a small budget. 🌊

Ischia is the largest island in the Bay of Naples and one of the best destinations for a day trip from Naples. Unlike glamorous Capri, Ischia is famous for thermal springs, beaches, picturesque villages, and a more relaxed atmosphere. If you only have one day, here are the experiences you shouldn’t miss. 🚢 How to Get There Ferries and hydrofoils depart regularly from Naples. ⏱️ Travel time: · Hydrofoil: 50–60 minutes · Ferry: 80–90 minutes 💶 Round-trip ticket: · approximately €30–50 per person Most departures leave from Molo Beverello and Calata Porta di Massa. ⚓ Where Does the Ferry Arrive? Most visitors arrive at Ischia Porto, the island’s main harbor and transportation hub. From here, buses connect all major towns and attractions. 🏰 1. Visit the Aragonese Castle The symbol of Ischia. Built on a rocky islet connected to the mainland by a stone bridge, the castle offers spectacular views of the sea and coastline. 📸 One of the most photographed places in southern Italy. ♨️ 2. Experience Ischia’s Thermal Waters This is what makes Ischia unique. The island is home to natural hot springs and some of Italy’s most famous thermal parks. Popular options include: · Poseidon Gardens · Negombo Thermal Park Even a few hours in the thermal pools can be one of the highlights of your trip. 🌊 3. Relax on the Beach Unlike Capri, Ischia has several long sandy beaches. Popular choices include: 🏖️ Maronti Beach 🏖️ Citara Beach 🏖️ San Francesco Beach 🍋 4. Explore Sant’Angelo A charming former fishing village that has become one of the island’s most elegant corners. You’ll find: · colorful houses; · waterfront cafés; · beautiful sea views; · a relaxed Mediterranean atmosphere. Many visitors consider Sant’Angelo the prettiest village on the island. 🍝 5. Enjoy Fresh Seafood Ischia’s cuisine is closely linked to the sea. Try: 🐟 grilled fish 🦑 seafood pasta 🍋 local lemon desserts 🍷 wines produced on the island 🚍 6. Take a Scenic Bus Ride Around the Island One of the easiest ways to discover Ischia. The circular bus route passes vineyards, villages, beaches, and viewpoints with impressive views of the Bay of Naples. 💡 Travel Tips ✅ Take an early ferry from Naples to maximize your time. ✅ Use local buses instead of taxis — the island is well connected. ✅ Bring swimwear even if you only plan a short visit. ✅ Book thermal park tickets in advance during summer. ✅ If you have limited time, focus on the Aragonese Castle and Sant’Angelo. ✨ Ischia combines thermal springs, beaches, historic landmarks, and authentic island life in a way few destinations in Italy can match. While Capri impresses with glamour, Ischia wins travelers over with relaxation, nature, and the feeling that one day is simply not enough. #traveltips #travel2026

Every photo is a masterpiece! 🏰Historical sites, telling stories of thousands of years The historical buildings on the island, such as Aragon Castle and Morro Castle, witness the vicissitudes of Ischia Island. Aragon Castle was built in 474 BC and integrates a variety of architectural styles. Walking in it, it is like traveling through time and space, back to medieval Europe. These ancient castles stand quietly on the island, telling people stories of thousands of years.

🌄 Magnificent seaside fortress The castle stands on a cliff by the sea, with the endless blue sea at its feet. The waves never stop beating against the cliff, contrasting with the castle's rugged outline. Standing outside the castle, the sea breeze carries the unique scent of the sea, and the distant sea and sky meet, the clear blue makes you feel like you are in a dreamland. 🏛️ Medieval style through time Stepping into Aragon Castle is like embarking on a time travel journey. Built in the Middle Ages, its stone walls are mottled, and every crack and dent is a unique touch left by time. The ancient towers rise straight into the sky, and from the top of the tower, you can overlook the entire layout of the castle, the maze-like corridors, and the solid fortifications, all of which show the wisdom and ingenuity of the builders of the time. 📜 A thousand years of history Aragon Castle has witnessed countless historical events, from dynastic changes to wars, and it has always stood firm. Walking on the stone road of the castle, you can almost hear the sound of swords and horses in the past and see the knights in armor shuttling through it. These legendary stories give the castle a mysterious and heavy veil. 🌆 The most romantic sunset The evening is the most romantic time of the castle, the sunset sets, and the afterglow dyes the castle warm orange, the whole world seems to be gilded. At this time, Aragon Castle is like walking out of a fairy tale, beautiful and intoxicating, and is an excellent photo spot. Aragon Castle has both a sense of history and beautiful scenery, and it is definitely a must-see on the travel list. Pack your bags and come here to experience its unique charm!

Ischia is a lush volcanic island not far away from Naples. It has hot springs, amazing views and medieval castle. Compared to Capri, the island is bigger in size and also less crowded. It certainly deserves a day or two in your itinerary when in Naples. Fret not if you don’t prefer to rent a scooter here because the public transport (bus) is efficient and easy to understand. The buses either run clock-wise or counter-clockwise. Just pick where you want to go and hop on. It is a paradise for everyone. It doesn’t matter if you love to hike, swim, eat, drink or just want to soak in a hot pool, because Ischia has everything for you. #bucketlistreboot #italy

overnight ferry from Palermo to Napoli and ferry from Napoli to Ischia

#epictravelmoments Some places are beautiful in photos. Some places become a memory. Ischia did both for me. I came across from Naples expecting beaches and a relaxing island day… but somehow got so much more. 🌿 Walking through the incredible gardens of La Mortella 🚗 Driving those coastal roads with the sea constantly appearing beside me 🌊 Stopping for beaches without planning every minute 🌋 Experiencing an island shaped by its volcanic landscape 🌅 And those moments where you simply stop because the view is THAT good. My favourite part? There wasn’t one big “wow” moment. The entire day kept giving me little ones. If you’re around Naples, don’t automatically make your island decision without considering Ischia. My perfect Ischia day? Garden 🌿 → coastal drive 🚗 → beach 🌊 → sunset 🌅 → no rush. That’s exactly what an epic travel moment means to me - not necessarily the most famous place, but the one you unexpectedly keep thinking about afterwards. 📍 Ischia, Campania, Italy 🇮🇹

🇮🇹 Naples (Napoli), Italy — Raw, Romantic & Full of Life 🍕🌊 Naples is a city with a completely different energy from the polished streets of northern Italy. It is loud, colorful, historic, chaotic, passionate, and incredibly authentic. Set beside the Bay of Naples with Mount Vesuvius in the distance, the city has an unforgettable character. 🏛️ Historic Naples The Centro Storico is the heart of the city, filled with narrow streets, old churches, tiny alleys, balconies, and centuries-old buildings. Walking along Spaccanapoli, the famous straight street cutting through the historic center, is one of the best ways to experience Naples. ⛪ Beautiful landmarks · Naples Cathedral (Duomo di Napoli) · Santa Chiara Basilica · Sansevero Chapel — famous for the extraordinary Veiled Christ · Castel Nuovo · Castel dell’Ovo · Royal Palace of Naples 🌋 Mount Vesuvius The legendary Mount Vesuvius dominates the landscape. You can hike toward the crater and enjoy spectacular views over the Bay of Naples. 🌋 🏺 Pompeii One of the biggest reasons to visit Naples is its proximity to Pompeii, the ancient Roman city buried by the eruption of Vesuvius in AD 79. Walking through its preserved streets, houses, temples, and theaters feels like traveling back in time. 🏝️ Amalfi Coast & Islands Naples is also an excellent base for exploring Capri, Ischia, Procida, and the Amalfi Coast. Capri’s dramatic cliffs and turquoise Mediterranean waters are particularly spectacular. 🌊 🍕 And of course—Pizza! Naples is the birthplace of Neapolitan pizza. A traditional Margherita pizza, with a soft crust, tomato, mozzarella, and basil, is an essential experience. 🍕❤️ 🌅 Best experience Watch the sunset over the Bay of Naples, with Mount Vesuvius rising in the distance, then wander through the lively streets for an authentic Neapolitan dinner. Naples may not try to be perfect—and that’s exactly what makes it unforgettable. It’s a city of history, food, sea, volcanoes, and pure Italian passion. 🇮🇹❤️🌋

Three beautiful islands in the Bay of Naples, but each one has a completely different vibe. 💙 CAPRI Perfect for dramatic scenery and iconic views. · Faraglioni · Blue Grotto · Cliffside viewpoints · Glamorous seaside atmosphere · Easy ferries from Naples and Sorrento 🩵 PROCIDA Smaller, quieter and full of authentic Italian charm. · Marina Corricella · Colourful pastel houses · Traditional fishing harbour · Local pastries and seafood · Great choice if you want fewer crowds 💚 ISCHIA Best if you want to combine beaches, nature and relaxation. · Castello Aragonese · Famous thermal spas · Beach resorts · Lush landscapes · Traditional Ischian food 💡 Extra tip: If you have enough time, don’t choose just one. Base yourself in Naples and visit the islands on separate day trips, or spend a couple of nights on Ischia for a slower experience. 📍 Best for iconic views: Capri 📍 Best for authentic charm: Procida 📍 Best for beaches & relaxation: Ischia Which one are you picking: Capri, Procida or Ischia? #Italy #Naples #Capri #Procida #Ischia #ItalyTravel #VisitItaly #ItalianIslands #TravelItaly #EuropeTravel #TravelTips #Tripcom

We went on vacation in Italy, visiting Napoli, the island of Ischia, and the Amalfi Coast.

#sunsetplaces Pozzuoli is a seaside town just outside Naples where you can easily combine ancient history, beach time, great local food, and trips to the islands of Ischia and Procida. Just before my visit, two earthquakes occurred in the area. Despite the situation, I decided to continue with my plans and travel to Pozzuoli — and discovered a place that deserves much more attention from visitors to Campania. 🏛️ Ancient Pozzuoli The town has an impressive history dating back to Greek and Roman times. One of its highlights is the Flavian Amphitheatre, the third-largest Roman amphitheatre in Italy. Its underground passages are particularly fascinating and give you an idea of what happened behind the scenes of ancient spectacles. Another must-see is the Macellum of Pozzuoli, traditionally known as the Temple of Serapis. The ruins of this ancient Roman market are also an important symbol of the volcanic activity of the Phlegraean Fields. The historic center and waterfront are perfect for simply wandering around, especially in the evening. 🏖️ Beaches and islands Pozzuoli is also a convenient base for a seaside holiday. There are plenty of beaches and beach clubs around the town and along the coast towards Baia. From the port, you can take boats and ferries to Ischia and Procida, making Pozzuoli an excellent alternative to staying in central Naples if you want to explore the islands. 🚌 Getting around is quite easy. Bus No. 101 runs regularly and connects Pozzuoli with other places along the coast, including Baia. 🍝 And, of course, there is food. Pozzuoli has plenty of restaurants serving local Campanian cuisine and fresh seafood. The waterfront is especially lively in the evening. 🌅 But there is one more reason I would return to Pozzuoli: the sunsets. Come to the port before sunset and simply stay there for a while. As the sun slowly disappears over the Bay of Pozzuoli, the sky turns gold, orange, pink and violet. Boats become dark silhouettes against the glowing horizon, while the lights of the waterfront gradually appear behind you. Every evening the colors are different. Some places impress you with museums or famous monuments. Pozzuoli stays in your memory because of the light. And watching the sun disappear into the sea from the port was one of those simple travel moments when you don’t need to go anywhere or do anything else. Just watch. 🌅

#summerbeachnights Looking for an adventure that’s totally next-level? Say hello to Baia by Submarine! Just a quick trip from Naples, you can cruise through the Underwater Archaeological Park of Baia… without ever getting your hair wet. 🚤✨ Here’s the vibe: The tour kicks off from the port of Baia, near Via Lucullo, 80070 Bacoli NA, Italy. This isn’t your basic boat ride—climb down into the lower cabin and you’re surrounded by giant windows that give you a front-row show to the city that’s been chilling underwater since Roman times. No need for goggles or wetsuits; ancient Baia literally floats past right outside your window! A local guide is onboard dishing out fascinating stories (in Italian and English), giving you the lowdown on what you’re actually seeing under the waves. It’s such a thrill to have real history explained as you float right above it. But why is Ancient Baia underwater? Back in Roman days, Baia was the ultimate high-roller hangout—with villas, thermal spas, and jaw-dropping palaces. The Phlegraean Fields area, though, is super volcanically active, and over the centuries, a natural process called bradyseism made entire chunks of the shoreline sink—like, gone! So now, the city’s iconic ruins are resting just a few meters under the sparkling sea. What do you see down there? Imagine drifting above gorgeous mosaic floors (the patterns are crystal clear!), crumbling villa walls, Roman thermal baths, and even patches of the ancient Via Herculanea road. Major highlight: the Nymphaeum of Emperor Claudius—a one-time party palace loaded with sculptures inspired by Homer’s Odyssey. The OG statues are safe in the Aragonese Castle Museum, but there are detailed replicas chilling on the seafloor. Peeking out the submarine windows at statues, courtyards, and thousand-year-old streets is straight-up mind-blowing. Like, you are literally floating above a real-life Atlantis! 🤯 And the journey doesn’t stop there. Once the underwater part wraps up, the boat cruises by the epic Aragonese Castle of Baia, perched dramatically above the bay. The castle now serves up even more ancient treasures as the Archaeological Museum of the Phlegraean Fields—think statues, amphorae, coins, and relics from Baia’s ultra-glam past. Hot tips for your trip: · The whole sub tour lasts just under an hour. · You can grab tickets (sometimes for less!) on Trip.com. · Baia is accessible from Naples via bus No. 101, which rolls right into Bacoli and the Baia area. · In summer, it can get *seriously* hot. Pack water and slap on that sunscreen—there’s some walking to do! · Don’t just bail after the boat ride. Check out the Aragonese Castle, the Archaeological Museum, and the ruins at the Terme di Baia (the ancient baths)—all within easy reach and all totally worth it. If you’re a history buff or just love finding quirky excursions, Baia’s sunken Roman city is a must-see. You could easily spend an entire day exploring both the parts that sank into the sea and those still standing on land. Trust me: the mini-submarine ride is one of those unique travel flexes you’ll be bragging about forever! Opening hours for the Underwater Archaeological Park of Baia are typically 9:00–18:00, but double-check on Trip.com before you go. Ready to go diving through time, no swimsuit needed? Baia’s underwater ruins are calling your name! #traveltips #travel2026

Capri is everything I imagined a beautiful seaside town in Southern Italy could be. I loved wandering around the island, discovering little corners, stunning views, and unexpected moments. 🌊🍋 One of my favourite surprises was finding an Italian café run by a Thai and Japanese chef. 🇹🇭🇯🇵 They cooked so beautifully that I ended up having almost all my main meals there. 😂🍝 Wonderful food, beautiful people, endless sea views, and perhaps a little romance in the air too. ❤️🌊 Capri, you definitely stole a piece of my heart. #Capri #ItalyTravel #CapriIsland #AmalfiCoast #wanderlust

My family and I have been coming back to this hotel since the 90s. Though the hotel has undergone many changes over the years, the warmth of the staff has always been a constant. The Roman experience and the hotel itself wouldn't feel complete without them. Warm thanks to Marco from Ischia for his sincere and kind assistance, Signor Roberto the night concierge, and a lobby staff member from Artena whose name I can't recall but who kindly helped me on my last day. Lastly, a special mention to Luca di Francia, the talented artist behind the bar. He was always a great friend, making me feel truly at home in Rome, not to mention the beautifully crafted drinks he created for us.

Palazzo Reale serves as the main venue for temporary exhibitions in Milan, capable of hosting up to four at once. Personally, I’ve attended several over the past few years, and I’ve found the quality of their setup and curation consistently strong. The latest exhibitions I visited were "Milano Metafisica" and one dedicated to the Macchiaioli, both of which I found highly enriching, both in terms of the quantity and value of the artworks displayed and the excellent presentation. Tickets generally cost around €15, though there are options for discounts. Palazzo Reale remains a key destination for art enthusiasts in Milan.

When in Naples, don’t just eat pizza🍕 This place deserves at least half a day of your time to meet the past from 2,000 years ago. Officially, Pompeii shows the spatial layout, while the Naples Archaeological Museum truly restores ancient Roman life✨ Because this is not an ordinary museum! It’s an experience of ancient Roman sculpture art and lifestyle. Artifacts brought back from Pompeii and Herculaneum reveal a buried world! It feels like the volcanic eruption of AD 79 happened just yesterday. Side note: Regarding Naples, the city streets are paved with old cobblestones that are hard to clean, so it can be quite dirty—choose walking carefully when getting around. The Naples Archaeological Museum has three floors with a large collection. The main exhibition area is on the 2nd floor. Includes 👍 Villa dei Papiri / Villa of Papyri: papyrus villa exhibition (Greek philosopher statues excavated from Herculaneum, Homer, Sappho, Aeschines round reliefs) Greater Greece exhibition (artifacts from the ancient Greek colonies in southern Italy) Pithekoussai (Ischia), Cumae, and ancient Naples Eastern mysteries, Isis temple artifacts Prehistoric and primitive history exhibition Sundial hall Ancient Roman daily life objects Pompeii panoramic model Pompeii and Herculaneum fresco exhibition hall (Dionysus, Athena, satyr myth frescoes are concentrated here) 1st + ground floor Coins and commemorative coins Farnese large sculpture collection (core giant ancient Roman statues) Sculptures excavated from the Campania region ✨ Must-see collections: 🎨 Pompeii frescoes and mosaics This place preserves a large number of frescoes, floor mosaics, and daily items excavated from Pompeii. 🔞 Secret room (Gabinetto Segreto) This houses some erotic artworks from Pompeii, showing ancient Roman society’s unique views on desire, fertility, and life. Mainly focused on the hedonism promoted by Dionysus. (Suitable for adults. If bringing children, please check the opening rules in advance😉) 📸 Photo tips: ✅ Go to the popular sculpture area right after opening for fewer crowds and better lighting ✅ Allow 2–3 hours or you won’t be able to see everything ✅ Learn about Pompeii’s history beforehand to enhance your visit 💡 Fun fact: The Naples Archaeological Museum is considered one of the world’s most important archaeological museums, with collections covering Greek, Roman, Pompeii, Egyptian, and other civilizations. T tour.naples.it 📌 Address: Piazza Museo 18/19, Napoli 🕘 Usually open 9:00 AM–7:30 PM (closed Tuesdays, please confirm before you go) M mann napoli|museo archeologico di napoli In short: ✨ If Pompeii shows you the moment of destruction, the Naples Archaeological Museum shows you the life that was preserved.

Spiaggia dei Pescatori (Fisherman's Beach) and its surrounding village offered some of the most heartwarming scenery I encountered on the island of Ischia! Living up to its name, this small, unassuming beach lets you experience the authentic vibe of an Italian island village—a stark contrast to the glitzy resort beaches. The sight of tiny, vibrant fishing boats lined up along the shore was absolutely picturesque. Taking a leisurely stroll through the alleys near the beach and catching a glimpse of the locals' daily lives was also a wonderful experience. It’s a place where you can truly feel the real Ischia, completely free from the typical tourist trap vibe. 💡 Pro Tips · Visit early in the morning to witness the lively daily routines of the local fishermen. · Treat yourself to a classic Italian breakfast at one of the nearby alley cafes. · Make sure your camera is fully charged—there are countless amazing photo spots! 📍 Location: Spiaggia dei Pescatori, Ischia, Italy

Just a 1.5-hour ferry ride from Naples lies the beautiful resort island of Ischia (Isola d'Ischia)! While it’s relatively less known than Capri, it offers a much more relaxed vibe and gives you a true taste of everyday local life. Thanks to its unique volcanic terrain, the island is dotted with natural hot springs, making it a famous spa getaway. With so much to do—from relaxing on the beach and soaking in hot springs to exploring castles and wandering through charming alleys—even a stay of more than a day feels too short. Visiting Ischia in May meant it was still pre-peak season, allowing me to enjoy a relatively peaceful and uncrowded trip. 💡 Pro Tips · A day trip from Naples is doable, but staying for at least one night is highly recommended. · You can easily reach the main tourist attractions using the local island buses. · It’s more affordable than Capri, making it a great choice for budget-friendly travel. 📍 Location: Isola d'Ischia, Italy

It's a hidden gem that feels completely removed from the usual tourist crowds. 3. When in Ischia, you absolutely can’t skip Sant’Angelo bay! This spot is a total vibe—serene ocean views, pastel-colored houses, and a touch of that Italian island magic. Tons of ferry tours make stops here, or you can hop on a local bus (super convenient if you want to explore like a true islander). The bay is located in the southern part of Ischia—Sant’Angelo, 80070 Serrara Fontana NA, Italy. Heads up: Sant’Angelo tends to be breezy (hello, windswept beach pics 🙌), so lather on that sunscreen and don’t forget a cute wrap or cover-up for your shoulders. Pro tip: keeping it light and breezy is the way to go! This little village is perfect for mixing beach time with low-key shopping. Chill on the sandy beach, duck into the adorable local boutiques for some shade (and maybe a unique souvenir or two), and savor an epic lunch at one of the seaside cafes restaurants —the views are next-level, especially with some classic Neapolitan dishes on your plate. Opening hours: The village and beach area are public, so you can enjoy that salty sea air all day long. Shops and restaurants usually open from around 10:00 am till late—just check individual spots when you get there! If you’re ready to experience Ischia’s iconic chill vibes with a splash of glam, Sant’Angelo Bay is one stop you cannot miss. Beachy fun + shopping + food + epic views = absolute perfection! #italy #ischia #travel2026 #seascapes #thingstodo

Honestly, if I hadn’t said anything, I almost thought I had stepped onto the set of the movie "The Talented Mr. Ripley" 🎬 Hidden between pine forests and cliffs, open the door and it’s the blue of the Tyrrhenian Sea. That kind of “isolated from the world” relaxation makes me feel like my breathing slows down just thinking about it. 📍 Location and Environment The hotel is located on a rocky cape in Forio on the island of Ischia, · ike a secret little estate itself. You can walk to San Montano Bay to splash in the waves 🌊, take a short taxi ride to La Mortella Gardens, and it’s very convenient to visit Aragonese Castle for sunset or the colorful fishing village of Sant’Angelo 🚗. You can even take a boat to Capri or Procida for island hopping with panoramic views 🚤. 🏠 Rooms and Facilities The rooms have a low-key old money vibe, mainly white and earth tones, making you feel calm the moment you step in. Many room types come with terraces or balconies, waking up to sea views or pine forests, no filter needed for photos 📸. Some rooms are even inside a former 16th-century watchtower, with arched windows and stone walls full of stories 🪟. Bathrooms are fully equipped with bathrobes and slippers, attention to detail is spot on. The bedding is super comfortable, after a day out, you just want to sink in and not move 🛏️. 🎡 Nearby Activities Staying here is never boring, with options for both relaxation and activity. In the morning, you can jump into a private little bay for a swim; the water is as clear as glass 🤿. If you like hiking, the coastal trails are lined with sea views, perfect for stunning photos 🥾. After exploring, collapse on the lawn’s rattan chairs, enjoying the sea breeze with a glass of local white wine—pure bliss 🍷. For a livelier vibe, visit Forio town, with its white-walled churches and cliffside restaurants full of charm ⛪. 💆♀️ Features and Services What impressed me most was the hotel’s hot spring spa. Ischia is famous for its healing hot springs, and the hotel has natural underground thermal water flowing into the therapy pools. The water temperature is just right, leaving you feeling light and refreshed after soaking ♨️. There’s also volcanic mud body treatments that wipe away fatigue instantly 🧖. The outdoor heated infinity pool on the cliffside · ets you swim while overlooking the Bay of Naples—what a beautiful scene 🏊. The restaurant specializes in Mediterranean cuisine, using very local ingredients; I had seafood pasta twice 🍝.

Beautiful hotel with amazing atmosphere and beautiful view. Excellent spa, delicious cuisine, close to major attractions.

Ischia, located in the Tyrrhenian Sea near Naples, is one of Italy’s most enchanting islands, offering a perfect blend of natural beauty, history, and relaxation.
