Explore Guildford: Perth's Charming Historic Town by Train! 🚂🇦🇺
#summervacay
Beyond the popular Fremantle, there's a lovely little town called Guildford that you can easily reach by train from Perth! Getting there is super convenient: just hop on the Midland Line from Perth city, and you'll arrive at either Guildford or East Guildford station in about 20 minutes.
Guildford isn't as crowded with tourists as Fremantle, but this town has beautifully preserved a wealth of 19th-century architecture, including the old train station, colonial buildings, churches, and historic inns. Guildford is officially listed as a historic town by the National Trust, boasting a strong colonial charm and unique village appeal.
To really dive into the town's character, you can pick up a map from the Swan Valley Visitor Centre. You can easily plan your route starting from the train station, as all the attractions in this small town are accessible on foot.
If time allows, definitely stop by Padbury's Cafe and try their famous soufflé pancakes – they're renowned for them! We managed to complete our visit and return to the train station within two hours, just in time to catch a connecting train, which saved us the fare for the return journey. 😉
