[Fukui | Echizen] You'll be mesmerized...! A knife art spot!
This is Takefu Knife Village, a lovely triangular building. You can purchase Echizen blades and tour the workshop. Here, works by Kazuo Kawasaki, a designer from Fukui Prefecture, are on display. These are reproductions of works that were exhibited at the Kanazawa 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art in 2006.
Before I went, I thought it was scary to see so many blades floating←
But I thought it was art, so I looked at the mysterious space carefully🤭
The cafe O-edo+, which I posted about before, is right next door, so I went there too♡

[American-style cottage with a spectacular view] Stay at Urban Resort Echizen!
Urban resort Echizen.
Each room has a different concept, such as Asian, surf, natural, etc. I stayed in the Surf room, which has a sea theme.
The room is composed of the first floor, the second floor, and the attic bedroom.
The ocean-themed room has very stylish accessories and interior, and it felt like living in a cottage overseas.
The jacuzzi is wonderful. It's a blissful moment to relax while looking at the beautiful sea of Fukui. It feels like being on the beach in America.
What I like most about this cottage is the bedroom 💛. The sea spreads out in front of you. I woke up in the morning, looked at the sea, and got up slowly. I was very happy.
It was also fully equipped with hot plates and plates, so it was good to be able to cook meals at home during the COVID-19 period.
This inn allows you to experience as if you had purchased a nice cottage villa and were living there.
The interior and structure were sure to capture the hearts of girls. I'd love to stay in the other rooms too.

Echizen City's famous local delicacy: "Oroshi Soba"
We'd like to introduce you to a soba restaurant that's highly praised by locals. ♡
Echizen City, Fukui Prefecture, is famous for its soba noodles.
Among them, "Oroshi Soba" is especially famous. ◎
It's eaten with the local vegetable "spicy daikon" (spicy radish) and noodle soup.
The spicy radish pairs perfectly with the thick, handmade soba noodles!!
At Yukameya, you can enjoy our especially spicy "Spicy Daikon Radish." Its spiciness is almost like wasabi, and it's addictive, making me return several times! 🤤 (It pairs perfectly with sake! ◎◎)
The tempura is large, fresh, and juicy! 🍆🌽🍤
I recommend ordering the grated daikon soba + tempura set! 🌟
This restaurant is popular, so we recommend getting there early!
If you're in Echizen City, Fukui Prefecture,
be sure to stop by! ♡

Murasaki Shikibu Park
I came across this while researching tourist spots in Fukui Prefecture.
The park is larger than I imagined, and apparently it's beautiful during the autumn foliage season.
There weren't many people, so I was able to explore without any stress.
There's no admission fee, so it's a great place to drop in whenever you want.

[Echizen's Three Great Delicacies] Volga Rice
Volga Rice at Yokogawa Branch @ Echizen City
We headed to this popular Western restaurant in front of Takefu Station in search of Volga Rice, one of Echizen's three great delicacies. Located on a side street leading to a shrine, this Western restaurant retains a retro exterior but boasts a stylish interior.
Volga Rice is a local delicacy originating in Takefu, consisting of a fluffy omelet rice wrapped in egg, topped with a bold pork cutlet and drizzled with a special demi-glace sauce.
The sauce is rich yet perfectly balanced between sour and sweet, creating a perfect harmony with the crispy cutlet and soft-boiled egg.
The meal is hearty yet not too heavy, so you won't get bored of eating it all the way to the end.

[Echizen's Three Great Delicacies] Takefu Station Chinese Noodles
Chicken Chuka Soba at Iroha Main Branch @ Echizen City
We headed to this restaurant in front of Takefu Station in search of "Takefu Ekimae Chuka Soba," one of Echizen's three great delicacies and a local ramen dish from Fukui.
Established over 70 years ago, this renowned restaurant is constantly visited by locals and tourists alike.
"Takefu Ekimae Chuka Soba" is counted among the "Three Great Delicacies of Echizen," along with "Sauce Katsudon" and "Volga Rice."
The thin, straight noodles are easy to enjoy, with a timeless flavor that you'll want to eat every day.
The simple topping of chicken char siu allows the savory broth and savory chicken flavor to linger.
A nostalgic bowl reminiscent of old-fashioned chuka soba.

Echizen soba is best eaten in Echizen City
Echizen Soba no Sato @ Echizen City: Premium Grated Daikon Soba
Desiring to sample authentic Echizen soba, I headed to Echizen Soba no Sato, a tourist hub in Echizen City. Attached to a souvenir shop, the spacious interior is a popular stop for groups and tour buses, truly reminiscent of an "Echizen soba theme park." It also houses a noodle factory, where you can experience soba making and even buy it directly from the shop.
Though I arrived five minutes before opening, there was already a line of about 20 people. Thanks to the spaciousness of the restaurant, I was able to enter on the first round and was shown to a cozy hearth-style seating area. Naturally, I ordered the signature "Premium Grated Daikon Soba."
The soba noodles served were thick, rustic, with a rich aroma and a chewy texture. Topped with generous amounts of spicy grated daikon radish, the refreshing spiciness of the soy sauce-flavored broth really brought the dish together. The more I ate, the more refreshing it became, and I finished it in no time. As expected, eating Echizen Oroshi Soba in its original place was exceptional.
The only regret was that I couldn't order a large portion. The perfection of the dish made me wish I could have enjoyed more of it. This soba restaurant represents Echizen City, and is highly satisfying for both tourists and everyday use.

[Fukui Prefecture/Echizen City] So stylish! A sushi restaurant I found in Fukui!?
𝐓𝐫𝐢𝐩*⋆✈Fukui𓂃 𓈒𓏸Echizen City
O-edo+
A popular and unusual cafe serving coffee and muffins run by a long-established sushi restaurant in Echizen City that I went to last year.
I went there because I wanted to try the WASARA menu, which is recommended for reservations.
You can make your own original sushi by placing your favorite ingredients on top of the round rice.✨🍣
As it is a cafe run by a long-established sushi restaurant and is in the Hokuriku region,
the seafood is fresh and fatty, and it is definitely delicious...!!!
By the way, the colorful rice is made with spirulina and Uji matcha, and there are many condiments, which is nice🫧
There are a total of 100 types of muffins sold in the store, and several types are lined up inside the store. All the pieces are large and filled with lots of ingredients, so they're very filling🥹
The coffee is made with Arabica beans☕️
And this place isn't just a cafe, they also sell accessories and miscellaneous goods like earrings, so even the waiting time is fun!!
There's Takefu Knife Village nearby, so be sure to check it out too.

1. Yokokan Garden: This is a stroll garden built during the Edo period, with beautiful scenery all year round. We recommend taking a walk along the building and veranda to the pond, where you can enjoy the tranquility and elegance.
2. Mikuni Port: Located at the mouth of the Kuzuryu River, Fukui's largest river, this port has been a transportation hub since ancient times. Although it is no longer as prosperous as it once was, you can still feel the elegance of its ancient charm.

Fukui's cuisine is not to be missed! While you may not be able to taste authentic local dishes here, you can try to find some local specialty restaurants and sample sushi wrapped in Echizen washi paper or other authentic dishes.

\Recommended Spot in Echizen City, Fukui Prefecture/
I visited the beautiful mirror art at 'Takefu Knife Village,' which will make you wonder if it's really made of knives!
This place actually has workshops and shops for 'Echizen Uchihamono,' a traditional craft of Echizen with a 700-year history!
The knife-made objects each have different designs, and I was captivated by them💎✨
