The early winter temperature starts to be unbearable, the scenic area Luobu people have retreated
There are fewer tourists along the way
The overall scene is more solemn and desolate in winter

The golden leaves on the ground of the Poplar forest form a carpet
The little brother is still fishing on the shallow beach of the Tarim River
The lake under the East Sand Mountain is still shining
Black swans are playing in pairs, as beautiful as a painting
Take the scenic spot sightseeing car from East Sand Mountain to Goddess Lake
Pass through the Taklamakan Desert all the way🏜️
Riding a camel in the desert and looking at the Goddess Lake
Still feel it's worth it
🎫: 50 (including sightseeing car)
⏱️: 10:00-18:30
🚗: It takes about 1.5h to drive from Kuerle city, there is a free parking lot at the entrance
❗️Notes
1⃣️It is recommended to take the scenic spot sightseeing car in two sections, the first section to Abudan Square. Most of the Poplar forest is on the way to East Sand Mountain, and then the second section belongs to East Sand Mountain-Goddess Lake-Abudan Square loop
2⃣️Most of the merchants have withdrawn this season, only a small amount of food is available at Abudan Square, but the commercialization mentioned by netizens is gone, and there are very few people, it's very comfortable to stroll around, and you can take pictures casually
3⃣️There are many projects in the scenic area, popular camel riding (80 yuan/person), glider, desert car, it was a bit cold and I just rode a camel and left, the scenery is really good
Don't go wrong! The wetland park next to the Luobu Village is more attractive
Friends going to Korla must go to 'Luobu Village', but I tell everyone with the experience of buying two tickets, don't rush into Luobu Village, it's more attractive to drive into 'Luobu Naor National Wetland Park' from the side!!!
'Luobu Village' and 'Luobu Naor National Wetland Park' are in the same location. The village takes a shuttle bus from the visitor center to visit, and the wetland park drives in from the side door to visit; the wetland park is larger and more primitive, I personally think it's okay to go directly to the wetland park!
🔸 Luobu Naor National Wetland Park 200r/car
The newly opened scenery, the original ecology is to buy tickets in the temporary shed at the entrance of the Luobu Village Visitor Center. It is a 46km ring road for self-driving, including several Populus euphratica landscapes. It is quite primitive. You can play as you like. The pictures are basically taken here. I personally think the experience is far better than Luobu Village
🔸 Luobu Village 49/person
The planned scenic area, there are many man-made scenes on the Populus euphratica forest, plus too many tour groups, the experience is not very good, the photos are not very good, the more highlights are the 'Goddess Lake' behind, which is more characteristic than the previous scenic spots~

An oasis in the desert, the Loulan Kurle Village
Great beauty of Xinjiang, the Loulan Kurle Village, is located in Dunhuang Township, Yuli County, Xinjiang. The Loulan people are a branch of the Uighur ethnic group, an ancient tribe unique to Xinjiang. For thousands of years, they have lived in isolation, and now only more than twenty households remain in the Lop Nur area, making a living by fishing, shrouded in mystery. They live by the water, and their way of life is not nomadic but based on fishing and hunting. Longevity is a major characteristic of the Loulan people,
the village is situated on the edge of the Taklamakan Desert, with the Tarim River flowing through it, nourishing the poplar trees inside and outside the village. Due to the hot climate and rare rainfall in the desert area, almost every Loulan person's house is a simple wooden hut that is ventilated on all sides. The Loulan people 'only fish with small boats for food'. The Kaban boat is the local fishing boat, and the Fairy Lake is the largest lake in the scenic area. The scenic area covers 72 square kilometers, encompassing the Taklamakan Desert, shifting lakes, the Tarim River, primitive poplar forests, and grasslands. It is a distinctive scenic area that combines natural and cultural landscapes.

The vast Xinjiang is too big to imagine. There is only one Taklimakan desert road. It took 7 hours to drive from Aksu to Hotan. Taklimakan means the big desert below the mountain. It is called The Sea of Death and is the second largest mobile desert in the world. It is also rated as one of the five most beautiful deserts in China. The compound sand hills and sand ridges are like the dragons suffocating on the earth.
Hetian, Xinjiang, which is located in the border of the motherland, has been a place of cultural integration since ancient times. The mountains and rivers are magnificent and deserted. The multiculturalism and folk customs here are beautiful and colorful.
The site of the Hot Wake Buddha Temple, with a height of about 3 meters, is located in the desert 50 kilometers northwest of Luopu County in Hotan. The site was built in the 2nd to 3rd centuries. Its unique Buddhist temple architecture and Buddha image retain the original Gandhara style. It was an archaeological aid for the early study of Buddhism's introduction to the Western Regions and ancient sculpture art. Now it is the national focus. Cultural relics protection unit

Taklamakan Desert scenery
The Taklamakan Desert is located in the Tarim Basin in southern Xinjiang. In the Uighur language, 'Tak', 'Tag', and 'Bog'da' in 'Bog'da' all mean mountain, and 'Lamakan' accurately translates to 'The Great Desert', carrying the meaning of 'vastness'. Therefore, 'Taklamakan' signifies 'The Great Desert at the foot of the mountains'. The desert spans about 1000 kilometers from east to west and is about 400 kilometers wide from north to south, with a total area of 337,600 square kilometers. It is the largest desert in China and the second-largest in the world, hence the name 'Taklamakan Great Desert'. It is also the world's largest shifting sand desert, with the largest area of moving sands. The altitude in the western and southern parts of the desert ranges between 1200 to 1500 meters, while the eastern and northern parts are between 800 to 1000 meters.

Hulu Island Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
This guide will tell you where to have fun in Huludao
Continuing north along the coast from Shanhaiguan, 120 kilometers away is Huludao, which belongs to Liaoning Province. Huludao City is very large. If you want to experience the local folk customs, in addition to playing in the sea, you can also visit the ancient towns and night markets here.
Day2, Xingcheng + Huludao
📍Xingcheng Dongshan Square Night Market
Because it was about seven o'clock in the evening when we arrived, the owner of the homestay recommended a very grounded night market. The cost performance is very high, and the locals love to go. All kinds of snacks and barbecue stalls are available! Three people spent one hundred and fifty, full of food and drink😃😃😃
📍Xingcheng Seaside Scenic Area
Because I live in Bikini Town👙, I came out for breakfast in the morning and went for a walk by the sea by the way. I checked in the famous Chrysanthemum Girl statue. The 🏖️scenic spot is free, cars can drive in, but parking fees🅿️ are required. I didn't stay for long, so I went to the most famous scenic spot in Xingcheng, Longhuitou.
📍Longhuitou🐉Scenic Area
Here you can simply imitate the Kuta Beach in Bali🏖️. From the mountain, you can overlook the crescent beach under your feet. The scenery is absolutely beautiful and very photogenic. The wooden plank road and suspension bridge are very suitable for walking and taking pictures📸. It is said that the beautiful scenery here makes the emperor look back frequently, so it is called Longhuitou🐉, which is worth checking in👍🏻
❗Suggestion: Because there are slopes and occasional steps on the wooden plank road, it is not suitable for pushing strollers. If you have a baby👶🏻, it is best to bring a strap or hold it.
📍Hulu Ancient Town
This is a scenic spot that I accidentally encountered on the self-driving journey, which surprised me. The name of the ancient town implies a good meaning - fortune. The entire ancient city extends with the gourd as the IP, and there are impressions and cultural creations of gourds everywhere🎁, which is very interesting. It is suitable for bringing babies👶🏻 to play here. The ancient town also has many wonderful performances such as shadow puppetry and marionettes. It is most appropriate to buy night tickets. Enter after four o'clock, the performances and scenery of the night scene are great
Populus euphratica on water, Huludao is relatively petty bourgeoisie
To see Populus euphratica on water, Xinjiang has Huludao, Luoburen Village, and Shayi. Compared with Luoburen Village, there are more tourists, Shayi is more vast, and Huludao was developed later, with the desert as the background, it is considered a bit petty bourgeoisie.
Day 5 of the trip to Southern Xinjiang
Huludao in Yuli County is a newly developed scenic spot. The road leading in is all gravel. When you reach the Tarim River, there is a temporary steel bridge built over the river. You have to switch to the private car of the scenic spot owner to get to the dock, and then take a boat to Huludao. Compared to the Tarim Poplar Forest Scenic Area in Luntai County, the poplar trees in Huludao Scenic Area seem a bit more niche. However, the continuous sand dunes and lake water give the poplar trees scattered among them a unique charm. We took a boat to Huludao and looked at the poplar trees in the water from a distance. With the nourishment of water, the poplar trees have an extra bit of elegance. When we arrived at Huludao, we climbed up the sand mountain. The picture of poplar trees, blue sky, clear water, and sand mountain is quite unique.
Eating on Huludao is not very convenient. There is only one kitchen in the scenic area. We had mutton pilaf for lunch. You can stay overnight on the island. Staying on the island for one night and watching the sunrise and sunset should be a good choice. Due to the group arrangement, we had to rush back to Korla in the afternoon. We have to catch a plane early tomorrow morning.

Xinjiang · Tarim River · Populus euphratica forest
The Tarim River, in the Uyghur language, means 'horse without reins' and 'fields, farmland'. It is located in the northern part of the Tarim Basin. Originating from the Tianshan Mountains and the Karakoram Mountains, it flows along the northern edge of the Taklamakan Desert, passing through the southern parts of counties (cities) such as Aksu, Shaya, Kuqa, Luntai, Korla, and Yuli, and eventually drains into Lake Taitema. The main channel of the Tarim River originally flowed into Lop Nur, but later changed its course due to the reduction of water flow and the shifting of the river channel. Before 1972, the tail water could reach Lake Taitema north of Ruoqiang County, but later the endpoint further retracted to the Daxihaizi Reservoir in Tieganlike. At the beginning of the 21st century, after the management of the entire basin began, water flow has once again reached Lake Taitema.

Crossing the Sea of Death, brave the secrets of the Taklamakan Desert Highway
The Taklamakan Desert in Xinjiang, known as the 'Sea of Death,' hides a miraculous road in its heart—the Tarim Desert Highway, an extraordinary journey that challenges the limits of nature! 🌌
🏁 **The legend of the highway, a lifeline through the sea of sand** 🏁
At 500 kilometers long, it's not the longest, but it is the toughest! This road is not just a pile of asphalt and gravel; it is the crystallization of the wisdom and sweat of nearly 200 brave souls, a victorious flag against nature! 🏆 From Luntai County to Minfeng County, it not only connects the north and south of Xinjiang but also writes a magnificent epic of humanity dancing with nature!
🌱 **A green ribbon, life meanders through the desert** 🌿
Don't be fooled by the monotonous scenery on both sides of the desert highway. The endless sea buckthorn, reeds, and poplar trees act like guardians of life in the desert. From an aerial view, they resemble an emerald necklace set in the yellow sand. 📸 This moment captured from the sky is a miracle of nature and human ingenuity combined!
🚘 **Driving guide: Stay calm, enjoy the solitude** 🚗
The asphalt road is smooth as a mirror, with a speed limit of 80km/h. It seems easy but tests your endurance. A friendly reminder from the police: buckle up, and don't let speeding be a regret on your journey! 🚨 Remember the time points for each segment of the road, watch out for hidden speed traps, and avoid unnecessary stops.
⛽️ **Preparation for departure: Start with a full tank, loaded with hope** 🛢️
The gas station in Luntai County is your energy station. Fill up the tank, and make sure you have enough food and water. Desert gear, sand and sun protection, you can't miss any of it, after all, we're seeking thrills, not the consequences of thrills! ☀️
📷 **Essentials for check-in, capture the beauty of the desert** 📸
The Tarim Desert Highway's signpost, the 0-kilometer milestone, and that touching phrase 'There is only a desolate desert, not a desolate life,' are all scenes you can't miss through your lens. Don't forget, the poplar forests along the way, they have witnessed the passage of time and are also waiting for your encounter.
🏠 **The water room guardians, a warm station in the desert** 🏡
Every 4 kilometers, the water rooms are the soul supply stations of the desert highway. The silent heroes who guard the road, their stories may be deeper than the desert itself. Stop and chat with them, and you'll discover that the warmth in the desert is more touching than you imagined.
Radio silence ≠ communication barrier, bring a walkie-talkie, and even if the signal is not in the service area, you can still keep in touch with your companions, letting laughter and singing become the most beautiful melody in the desert! 🎶
Xinjiang Taklamakan Desert
Beautiful Xinjiang
The desert smoke rises straight, the long river sun sets round. The desert sunset, human fireworks, the mountains and rivers are vast. May we all be free from the constraints of life, wield our swords and travel the world.
