If I only had one day in Xiamen, I would follow this route to see the sea of Xiamen. Perhaps it's not the most beautiful but it is definitely one of the most comfortable beaches to walk on in China. Even on the same coastline, you can see different scenery. When tired, you could also ride a bike or take a public bus for just 1 yuan, and enjoy the sea view from the bus. Otherwise, just find a seaside cafe at will, sit down, feel the sea breeze, and let time slow down. If I could only stay in Xiamen for one day, I would walk this line: Huangcuo Beach, Wan Yue Po, Pan Ting, Gui Zhan Dao, Zeng Shan Station, Music Square, Pearl Bay to watch the sunset, pick up luggage from the guesthouse, and head to the high-speed rail station.
