The Shijia Courtyard reflects the unique style of the Qing Dynasty residential architecture. Located in the center of Yangliuqing, a thousand-year-old town, the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal flows through the southern canal of Tianjin. Formerly a Shi Yuanshi residence in Tianjin, one of the eight people in the late Qing Dynasty. Shijia was originally from Shandong, and his ancestors settled in Yang Qingqing during the Qing Emperor Qianlong. It was built in 1875 and has a history of 140 years. It has a unique structure and beautiful brick and wood carvings. Entering the gate is a wide long road that forms the central axis of the compound. There are five different gates in the form of beautiful buildings. From the south to the north, the gates are gradually rising, meaning "step by step," and each gate is a three-level step, meaning "continuous rise to three levels." There are five courtyards on both sides of the road. The East House is an inner house, with internal accounts, waiting rooms, study rooms, ancestral halls, and inner houses. The west courtyard is a large living room, warm room, big theater, and ancestral hall for VIP reception. Compared with the inner house, the building materials are more sophisticated and the workmanship is more elaborate. In the large living room, there is a large canopy nearly 5 meters high, which can block the wind and shelter from the rain. It can be seen from a long distance outside the town. The grand drama building is spacious and gorgeous, and it can accommodate 200 people for a feast. It is the largest theater in North China. The famous Beijing opera masters such as Sun Juxian and Tan Xinpei have performed here. The Hualing fans are all the original colors of Nanmu. Extremely luxurious. There are three courtyards in the west of the West Campus. It is a private house and other special rooms.
