The cost to get into the tower itself makes it one of the pricier venues in the city. Tickets issues will have a call number and time for which you can enter the tower. You need to pay attention to when your number is called, but there is a café in which you can wait the time out. The main observation platform allows for some of the best views of Taipei during the day. It also has an outdoor observation platform (its very safe) to view the city from. It is closed during bad weather and the best time to go is before sunset, as you will be able to see the sun set from the observation area. The dampener that support the buildings high structure can be found in the observation area and is worth a look. There are a number of gifts shops, cafes found in the observation area with a restaurant on the floors below where you depart from.
