East Meets West In Sea World, Shenzhen

Sea World is a the hub of Shekou in Nanshan, Shenzhen. The area is a hub for food, drink and shopping and draws a lot of expats due to it’s big selection of western food joints. The area is built around a refurbish French cruise ship, built in 1968 - the ship sits in a big body of water that is surrounding by a walkway, gardens and restaurants. The area is busy over the weekends especially if the weather is good, there are lots of places with outdoor seating and happy hours to help enjoy the weekend. You can get to the area via the Sea World metro stop or by walking along the Shenzhen Bay park as it finishes a the bottom end of Sea world. Sea world is within walking distance of Nanshan mountain and it’s a great place to relax after hiking the mountain for the views out over Shenzhen bay and Hong Kong. There are play areas and arcade games for children and also a culture and arts museum opened in partnership with the V&A museum in London.
