The Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela—Apostolic Sanctuary and Immortal Treasure

The Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela is one of the world's most famous cathedrals and is one of the few cathedrals that the Catholic Church recognizes as a Basilica. There are only two Basilicas in Spain, which are the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela and the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona. The city of Santiago was declared a World Cultural Heritage site in 1985, and afterwards, the cathedral was featured on the Spanish Euro coins. Most people who travel the Pilgrim's Way to Santiago de Compostela do so to visit the great Cathedral of the Apostle, a cathedral that blends Romanesque and Baroque styles and will surely not disappoint.
