Catherine Palace The Catherine Palace, also known as the Palace of Catherine the Great, was built to showcase status. The area where the palace is located is also known as the Tsar's Village or Royal Village. The palace is located in Pushkin, 25 kilometers south of St. Petersburg, Russia. It was built during the time of Peter the Great and has a Baroque-style royal garden, a "blonde hair and blue eyes" exterior, a dazzling interior, and a beautiful and spectacular French-style garden.
