SLOAN MORAN

Island Diary - Pingtan (with Strategy Guide)

My Island Diary - Pingtan🐚 Day1️⃣ I encountered a rainy day on the first day. Since I was staying near Longwangtou Beach, I had a big lunch at the McDonald's at Longwangtou at noon🍔. Having brunch by the sea is really amazing. Although it was raining, the sea was still very blue. After eating, I strolled along the beach. The sea breeze was strong and the sky was overcast, which didn't affect my excitement of seeing the sea for the first time at all!! It's inconvenient when it rains, so I only went to the Fairy Well (ticket🎫 22/person) that day. You can take a small train up the mountain for 8 yuan/person (this is optional, a ten-minute walk will also get you there haha). Fairy Well is indeed a good place to visit on a rainy day, with black rocks, gloomy sky, and the sea, it's great for taking cool photos Day2️⃣ It was drizzling on the second day too, but it stopped at noon. We rented an electric scooter🛵 (40/day) from the guesthouse downstairs and planned to tour the south line. The first spot was Houyan Island/68 Sea Miles (the closest place to Taiwan), which we just looked at from outside and didn't enter, as it required a ticket. Then we rode to Tannan Bay, which is my favorite spot among all. Maybe because the weather cleared up in the afternoon, the sea was clear and bright like glass, incredibly beautiful. There were so few people in the off-season, the whole bay was mine. Tannan Bay is really too beautiful, the moment I saw the sea through the pine forest was such a surprise. Because the weather improved a lot, we even waded in the water, and both of us left with a foot full of sand. We had Linji Chaoshan Seafood Congee Pot, which was really fresh and delicious. We also chased the sunset and saw an orange sunset on the road, but by the time we got to the beach, there were only two patches of pink afterglow haha Day3️⃣ Finally, it was a sunny day on the third day. We saved the best weather for the north line and rented an electric scooter again (50/day). We set out early in the morning and went to McDonald's at Longwangtou to buy breakfast to eat while walking by the sea. It was so comfortable with the sun warming us, but unfortunately, there was a thick fog by the sea, and the water was not very blue. 🚩The first stop was Jing Sha, a reef beach where you can go down to take photos📷. The sea shrouded in fog was even more mysterious, with no end in sight. 🚩The second stop was Beigang Village, stone houses built by the sea. We just passed by quickly and took a look around. 🚩The third stop was Changjiang'ao, where you can normally see the Windmill Sea, but due to the fog, we could only vaguely see the big windmills. There are stone beaches and sandy beaches, and many friends were picking crabs, which was interesting. 🚩The fourth stop was Beibu Bay. Because the fog was too thick, we didn't go to the ecological corridor. We just enjoyed the sun and sea breeze in the sunny spots, listening to the sound of the sea. The fog was heavy, but the sun was also strong, and it was very comfortable to bask in. 📝The weather in Pingtan really depends on luck. We checked the weather forecast before and it was all sunny, but after we arrived, the weather changed abruptly. Everyone says the weather forecast is unreliable. Although we didn't see the sunrise and perfect sunset, we still experienced a different sea. Everything is the best arrangement. When there's sun, it's really hot. Both of us got several shades darker when we came back haha
