Oshino Hakkai

#japantrip Have you been to Oshino Hakkai? It's about two hours from Yokosuka. A lovely scenic spot with great views of Mount Fuji on clear days.🏔 📍 Oshino Eight Ponds - Shibokusa, Oshino, Minamitsuru District, Yamanashi 401-0511 "Oshino Hakkai, a national monument, is a springpond with a water source from underground water from Mt. Fuji. These eight ponds hold history, legends and are recognized as a sacred site of Fuji worship. This place has been certified as part of the World Heritage Site of Mount Fuji." Things to do -- You can feed the fish in the ponds for a small fee for fish food, and there are also shops with food and souvenirs to purchase. I also saw wheelchairs were available to borrow in their visitors center. You can walk to each of the ponds and visit the nearby shrines.
