The shoreline of the lake twists and turns, giving birth to many branches, connecting the city of Lucerne with the surrounding mountains. The lake has 114 square kilometers, the longest is 39 kilometers, the widest is 3 kilometers, the altitude is 434 meters, and the deepest is 214 meters. The total volume is 11.8 cubic kilometers. Many of the shorelines of the lake rise to 1,500 meters above sea level with cliffs and peaks, resulting in many beautiful scenery, including Mt. Rigi and Mt. Pilatus. Reuss River in Flelen (Uri, Uri)
