Nan'ao Jinyin Island

Jinyin Island is located at the north end of Nan'ao County, Shantou City, Guangdong Province, in the middle section of the 336 provincial road. People call it 'Jinyin Island', which is said to be the place where the Ming Dynasty pirate Wu Ping hid his gold and silver. Jinyin Island is surrounded by the sea on three sides, with clear waves. As the name suggests, Jinyin Island is an island related to gold and silver treasures. There are large rocks on the island, winding paths, stone caves, and it is extremely cool. There is an umbrella-shaped pavilion on the mountain. In front of the pavilion, there is a statue of a beautiful lady. She is Wu Ping's sister. Everyone sees her holding a gold ingot in one hand and a sword in the other, looking like she is guarding the gold and silver. It is said that touching the gold ingot in her hand will bring you wealth. The stone wall next to her is embedded with inscriptions such as 'Jinyin Island Chronicles', and there are many strange stones around with poems and texts inscribed by famous people. The great pirate Wu Ping of the Ming Dynasty Jiajing period was active in the coastal areas of Fujian and Guangdong, looting passing ships and gathering a large amount of gold, silver and jewels. After Wu Ping's death, the whereabouts of these treasures became a mystery.
