Wantusawa: A Bucket Full of Oyster Delight

Our next culinary adventure led us to Wantusawa, an oyster bar renowned for its diverse selection of oysters prepared using various methods. As oyster enthusiasts, we were both thrilled by the opportunity to indulge in this seafood haven! Our order encompassed a variety of oysters - raw, baked, fried, and the most interesting, oyster shooters. The baked oysters were a culinary delight, particularly for cheese aficionados. Bursting with flavours, these delectable morsels were an absolute steal at only 50 pesos. While the service may not have been top-notch, the baked oysters more than made up for it with their irresistible cheesy goodness. We also paired our feast with three different types of sake, enhancing the overall experience. Although the oyster shots intrigued us with their presentation, their taste fell somewhat short of expectations. While enjoyable, they lacked the wow factor we had anticipated. On the other hand, the fried oysters offered a savoury delight, accompanied by a subtle hint of seaweed that added depth to their flavour profile. While the size of the oysters seemed lacks consistency, their overall quality did not disappoint. Wantusawa's oyster offerings provided a mixed experience, with standout items like the delectable baked oysters and savoury fried options, alongside less memorable choices such as the oyster shooters. While the service may have faltered, the flavours spoke for themselves, making it a worthwhile stop for any oyster enthusiast.
