FROM MADRID WITH LOVE

Madrid is Unbelievably safe for a city of its size. Very laid back with very little aggro and disorderly behaviour. You can go almost anywhere at any time and feel quite safe, in comparison to most other cities I know, especially those in the UK. It's alive. It's buzzing with life. Its streets are busy, its bars are full, its terraces boisterous, its nightlife exciting. Day or night the city is packed with people having a good time with their friends and family. Transport, You finish your night out, whether at 12 or at 5, you catch a metro or a bus, it's full of people, it's usually safe enough and clean enough. It gets you home. Transportation is very good. You can move around easily and reliably. Culture, Having lived in smaller cities, I have constant appreciation for the never ending possibilities of cultural events. Music, theatre, sports, museums, events of every kind, places and people for every niche and interest, so many options all week long, all the year. Food, All the good things about the Spanish food scene in one place. From supermarkets full of affordable fresh produce, to local bars serving hearty food, to international cuisine and Michelin star restaurants. You get to eat really well all the time for any budget. Not chaotic, Despite the huge population Madrid feels so much less chaotic and intense compared to any European city of its size. Things work. The city runs.
