Blue House - From Chinese Hospital to the Grade 1 Historic Building

#bucketlistreboot Blue House is not only about color, but a history. The 4-storey balcony-type tenement building is located at 72-74A Stone Nullah Lane, Wan Chai, Hong Kong. The building was a hospital for Chinese medical services back in the 19th Century and became a Temple when the hospital closed down in 1886 before it was demolished in 1920. To preserve Chinese-style buildings in Wan Chai, this remaining balcony type in Hong Kong was renovated in 2015 and is listed as a Grade I hitoric building. The name Blue House refers to the blue color painted on the walls. The building won the architectural prize in 2018. #historicsites #blue #historicbuilding #wanchai #architect
