When you come to Quanzhou, don't miss this century-old South Seas style ancient village

When you travel to Quanzhou, if you find West Street too crowded and noisy, I recommend you visit Wulin Village in Jinjiang. This group of Southern Fujian ancient buildings, which has endured over 600 years of vicissitudes, is filled with the nostalgia of overseas Chinese from Southern Fujian. Here you can find both Southern Fujian official-style mansions and exotic architectures such as Gothic and ancient Roman styles. Walking on the stone-paved roads, you will experience the nostalgia of a traditional Chinese village blended with Western architecture. I strongly suggest spending half a day to explore this niche treasure and feel the pulse of history and the charm of the overseas Chinese hometown in Southern Fujian. 🚗Transportation It takes about 20min by taxi from Quanzhou Airport, and about 10min from the South Station. There is also an exhibition hall for visiting. 📍De Wei Residence: A very traditional Southern Fujian ancient building stack, with a more than 200-year-old banyan tree in the courtyard, with intricate roots, very spectacular, also known as 'Banyan Root Residence' by the locals. 📍Gun Tower: Also known as the Cultivation Tower, it is the highest point of the ancient village. Buying a ticket to go up allows you to overlook the entire beauty of the ancient village. 📍Scoop Wine Brewery: At the entrance of the soy sauce wine museum, there are bamboo rattan chairs, and you can also take photos of the Gun Tower. 📍Opera Stage: Not far from the entrance of the village, you can see the opera stage. The sunshine wine on the stage is really amazing, and various activities are also held here. The exterior is in the style of ancient Rome, but the first and second floors are in Southern Fujian style, which is quite interesting. 📍Overseas Chinese Letter Museum: A Spanish-style western building made of Southern Fujian red bricks. Now it is a post office building, and you can go up to the second floor for free to take panoramic photos of the village, with a great view. 🚶🏻‍♂️Juruo Ancient House Bookstore: The environment is particularly nice, especially for taking photos, unique. Tips 1️⃣The ferry car costs 9 yuan for a round trip, which is not very necessary unless it's a very hot day, as it's only a 3~5 minute walk. 2️⃣For those who want to take photos in Nyonya/Zan flower style, this is the place to come, with fewer people than Quanzhou West Street and Xunpu Village, and the scenery and buildings are also very photogenic. 3️⃣There are plenty of things to eat, drink, and play in the scenic area, including some cultural and creative shops, beverage shops, authentic Southern Fujian restaurants, etc. If you don't want to eat in the scenic area, Wen Cheng Niu Niu or Bagua Street nearby is recommended. 4️⃣The pond at the entrance of the village is also a great place to take reflection and sunset photos.
