poetic journey to Chaji Ancient Village in Southern Anhui!

Chaji Ancient Architectural Complex is located in Taohuatan Town, Jing County, Xuancheng City, Anhui Province. It is just over 20 kilometers away from Taohuatan, where the great poet Li Bai once wrote 'The waters of Taohuatan are a thousand feet deep'. The 'Immortal Poet' Li Bai left behind a poem 'Presenting to Wang Lun' and bid farewell to his good friend Wang Lun. He then went to visit another friend, Cha Shimu, in Chaji. It was in Chaji, during the joyful gathering with his friend, that the great poet Li Bai composed another poem to record this beautiful journey that has been passed down through the ages. Why do I choose to reside in the green mountains, I smile without answering, for my heart is at ease. The peach blossoms and flowing water drift away into the distance, there is another world beyond the human realm. This is the homeland where the Cha family clan has been thriving since the Tang and Song dynasties. It reached its most prosperous period during the Ming and Qing dynasties. The well-preserved Hui-style architectural complex that stands today is a living museum of traditional classical residential houses. Compared to many traditional ancient towns in the Jiangnan region that I have visited, the old Hui-style town in the mountains, though also built along the water, has a stream that is even more delicate and graceful. Although it lacks some of the functions of the Jiangnan waterways for boating and navigation, the flowing water of the Chaji stream is the ordinary yet everlasting witness of time her
